How frequently to change ignition coils and spark plugs?

How frequently should I change ignition coils and spark plugs on a lightly modified N54.

I'm currently on MHD Stage 1+.

TIA

No real need to change unless you are getting misfires.

I thought modded N54s need to get plugs/coils replaced like every 30K or 40K.

What is the logic behind that? You don’t expect that modded n54 are operated are the maximum potential at all times do you? What if is it modded for 1000hp and is pussy footed for 30k or 40k miles? As previously stated change as needed: when you have issue. Unless you have resources to replace something you don’t have to...

Non tuned n54 = 45,000 miles on OEM plugs

Non tuned N54 = 100,000 miles on OEM coils

If you are being proactive, you could buy the plugs & coils from FCP Euro with a lifetime warranty.

I think most people would say around 30,000 miles or so on Bosch plugs & maybe 50 to 60,000 miles on coils. Tunes tend to cut the life of oil, plugs, coils and injectors in 1/2.

Wouldn't timing corrections count as an issue?

Is a sign that something is going on but not necessarily sparks.

Should you be proactive or wait for issues to arise ?

If you are proactive, and you get a problem it can help you rule out a lot of things in terms of the cause.

I don't think it works like that. You will be wondering what failed when you have everything under the sun newly replaced on the engine. It will be a true head scratcher...Besides, no telling when particular part can fail. Regardless whether new or old.
