My thoughts as well. I'd love to get rid of the secondary air pump, I'm just not sure if anyone has cared enough to find the fault to disable in MSV80.1. Also not sure if any of it is worth the hassle, vs just buying a tune for MILVS and being done with it.

yes, you need an N53 330i file with the power class changed to match your car. Otherwise, it will run in limp mode. The checksum has to be corrected but that's a separate issue, and you also need to bypass the RSA signature check.

Is anyone interesting in helping out an 328 getting flashed to a 330. I have everything I need to complete the job, but also having trouble getting the ear of those who do remote sessions to setup up the software/flash the DME over.
I understand people have busy lives, just seeing if someone could help on my final step to getting my mods finished up. I do have bwm tools installed, though some things seems to not be working. I will trouble shoot that this evening. Then i just need the flash done. As I've' never done it I'm shy. Thanks in advance |

I'm home most evenings after 4pm and most every Saturday and sunday side from a few hours here and there. Would you be alright if i passed you my number and you could text me if the time present itself for the taking? I could be at my computer and hooked up to the car in minutes if you can take the time. |

hassmaschine ,
I've configured my BMW Tools software successfully. I'm pretty much ready to run the bat files for RSA delete then Tune, though on the "currently supported DMEs" list it mentions: - N52N MSV80 with software: 0049QK0MI20S I can't see anything that is called SoftwareID in INPA, though I have a program reference number of 0049QK0MD22S Does this difference pose a problem? When I use the BMW Coding tool to update the ECU, no updates are found. I've attached two screenshots for reference. Last edited by Pinscher; 11-03-2018 at 07:11 PM.. |

No, just flash both files - that is just the software version we support, since it's the newest that is used on all MSV80 variants (E60, E90, E83, etc).
Your software is really old, it's probably never been updated before. |

Will flashing the files increase my software version, or should I be heading to the dealer to update? |

Our flash will only affect the DME software version. It doesn't directly affect other modules.
However - on a few occasions, I have heard of issues when other modules are also way out of date. It wouldn't hurt to get your car brought up to date, but BMW software changes are way too complex for me to say it's absolutely needed (or not needed). |

Flash complete, it was as easy as Hass suggested, once you have the software setup.
funny, I really drained my battery in the time it took me to get the BMW Tools configured. I suggest hooking up a charger if you're doing any of this for your first time. Flashing seemed to auto use expert mode to complete. Directly after the flash, I cycled the ignition of the car and then deleted all the car's adaptations. Then I took an error report Engine / Motor Fault Code: 002FA3, Fault Explanation: coding missing Fault Code: 002FA4, Fault Explanation: incorrect data Fault Code: 002CFB, Fault Explanation: Throttle adaptation value Fault Code: 002D09, Fault Explanation: throttle Transmission / Getriebe GS 19 Fault Code: 00CF1C, Fault Explanation: :Embassy Status followers / CAN message of DSC: torque requirement / Embassy (motor data, PT-CAN) from the engine control / Embassy Group error 3 (impact when driving = no) for (EGS EL, PT-CAN) of (dmex, PT-CAN) / Lost communication with DME / News of the DSC: torque requirement I drove the car for about 45 minutes so far, 40km or so, and it doesn't seem to be learning. In fact, throttle response after 30-40% pedal depression is non-existent. For a while, I had a half engine check light on, though after 30km and clearing errors that seem to have gone away. As of right now, the errors read: Engine / Motor Fault Code: 002FA3, Fault Explanation: coding missing Fault Code: 002FA4, Fault Explanation: incorrect data - Power Class issues? Transmission / Getriebe GS 19 Fault Code: 00CF1C, Fault Explanation: :Embassy Status followers / CAN message of DSC: torque requirement / Embassy (motor data, PT-CAN) from the engine control / Embassy Group error 3 (impact when driving = no) for (EGS EL, PT-CAN) of (dmex, PT-CAN) / Lost communication with DME / News of the DSC: torque requirement I feel like I may have missed a setting in the flashing process that didn't adjust or fix the power class. |

Update: today my car woke up and it has soome nice power. So much so The car pulls left right due to wide tires and rutted/grooved roads.
The transmission code is still active supposedly I need to train it with DIS software. |

A big thank you!
I had been sitting on a 3 stage IM with new DISAs (not OEM, the other brand available) for more than a year. A few months ago my starter died, as I had to remove the intake I had put the 3 stage one with the DISAs. Have been driving like that couple of months thinking one day I will do the flash from BimmerLabs. Well finally today I got to do it, and just took it for a spin and came back. And there is definite difference! I didn't have opportunity to test the upper range but low end torque difference is obvious. My car pulls at 6th gear same as it used to at 5th gear on high way. The other thing I noticed, the 325 I had was definitely suppressed in terms of performance. Now it is like the bans are removed. In neutral if I had to get the RPMs up previously I had to stab the pedal and stay on it. Like for double clutching, something was off. It is not in gear, there is nothing holding the engine to rev up, but it wasn't before. Now, it DOES! In neutral once it reaches 3K RPM it very quickly climbs up to 6K RPM.
The engine sound also seemed to have changed, which is probably due to intake paths are not different with the DISA's opening and closing. The most obvious is something was holding back the engine before, that is removed now! Thanks Hassmachine, Terraphantm, rjahl! |
