Hey guys,

My 2007 E90 320d recently lit up like a christmas tree. This happened about a week ago and it was during a cold start early morning. The red handbrake light stays on, airbag light, seatbelt light, DSC and ABS. Along with this the wipers are on and cannot be turned off as well as the speedometer not working? The fuel gauge also moves about erratically but usually reads correctly, just sometimes drops up and down. This is all new with this problem.

My first thought was to check on a few forums to see if I could find anyone else with a similar problem.

Steps I have taken so far to try diagnose / repair the issue.

1. Changed battery
   I checked the battery reading when it was cold, checked it when it was active and also used the onboard voltage reading in the hidden menu to check the voltage held steady while driving a decent distance. This all read OK. On my list of things to do in the near future was to change out the battery as it was the stock battery and I had only owned the car a few weeks. So i decided to do this early and just change the battery to eliminate this as a cause which I had seen some people having as an issue. Didn't fix the problem.
   
2. Checked fault codes via ISTA/D
   The only reason I changed the battery on a whim first was because I was planning to do so anyway in the future. So these were the fault codes I have got.
   
   

   00A550 Message (speed, 0x1a0) faulty, receiver KOMBI, transmitter DSC
   00A3B9 Sporadic fault (failure, DSC message, 0x19E) No repair measures available)
   00A3AC Message (distance travelled, 0x1A6) faulty, receiver KOMBI, transmitter DSC
   00A0B5 CAS: Fault, road speed signal
   0093FB No message (vehicle speed) from DSC, ACSM receiver/MRS5, DSC transmitter
   S 0085 No communication possible with: Dynamic Stability Control

3. Rear drivers wheel sensor
   After these codes I checked the speed sensor on my drivers side rear wheel and cleaned the sensors up. There was no face marks or any sign of damage.
   
   
4. Checked fuses
   Checked fuses relating to DSC, speedometer, basically everything that lit up as well as any keywords from the fault codes. No problems there. Probably should have checked this earlier to be honest.
   

Am i right in thinking that this would either be a speed sensor issue on a different wheel? I read on a different post that if the brakelight was red it'd point me to the direction of the rear wheels. If not a speed sensor issue my other thought is that this is a DSC issue, potentially the module? Really I'm looking for any guidance on what people would suggest checking as opposed to getting it down to a specialist. Any thoughts lads?

There was a whole thread about this symptom that turned out to be due to a fuse in the engine bay that is normally overlooked.

Hey. Checked all fuses in engine compartment i think. In the "motor sicherungen" casing within the fuse box which also contained the relays. All were OK.

Really starting to scratch my head at this

Hey. To end this thread. Found the solution. It was a combination of two fuses gone at the same time. Found it with a mechanic friend and he was as baffled as I was. Once we changed them it worked fine and hasn’t gone again since. Can’t even think of the chances of two fuses blowing at the same time and it not being some issue that repeats.

So you were looking for solution on this platform yet you found the solution and cant exactly post a helpful response, which fuses did you have to change?
