Contemplating side skirt extensions for £130 not sure yet
Looking forward to the splitter

Which side skirt extensions you thinking as I saw a few CF ones I considered.
Sorry must have missed this. I bought a splitter thinking it was a genuine kerscher one but its not and doesnt line up. To be fair to the seller he didnt advertise it as genuine and he's happy to refund. So back to the drawing board.

Barry Graham has a nice splitter that definitely fits his 1m bumper, so may get that. The extensions i was thinking of are also from him, they are on ebay if you want a link?

I've put the item number, so if you search for that you should find it

Ordered another splitter, should be here in 2 weeks. Got some pressed metal plates too. Will put pics up once done.

I do have a weird problem with my xenon headlights. When i put them on auto the lights are always on, even in bright sunlight. Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah I'd go with his as it will be a perfect fit for his own bumper. And for sure would like to check it his side extensions so appreciate the link.

I've got another splitter but haven't had the time to get it fitted yet. Also need to put some more pics up of the car cleaned up.

Anyways had a problem today with the autobox. When shifting into DS mode it stays in D mode on the dash, and it certainly doesn't feel like DS mode. Also when in D mode the orange light on the gearstick indicator is on, but when shifting to the left, the left hand side indicator stays off, with the D light off too. Feels like it just stays in D.

Read a few threads about some wires getting spliced due to tight fitting so may try opening it up this weekend, but im useless with soldering.

Ah interesting on the gearbox. I'm guessing the wiring being referred to is the ones under the centre console?
If so then not too hard to get to and check. You can always just bullet connect the wires back together if not keen to solder (if the issue is a break in wiring).

Yep the wiring in the centre console. Hopefully that's the issue, and yes might get some bullet connectors. Even they are sometimes tricky lol

Found the 2 wires that split. Had to take rear centre console off and got away with leaving the front one on. Just had to take all bolts off to move it around enough to take the right sided screws off the gearshift assembly.

Off to maplins in another car mow to get the connectors. I hope i get DS mode back after fixing these wires. Car feels so different with D mode only

Crazy isn't it that they can get cut like that.

Yeah once reconnected all will be well I'm sure.

It is crazy, what a stupid design it looks like BMW made the loom pinch on purpose, you can pull it out and leave it loose with much more room...

Upon further inspection its worse than i thought. Looks like i will have to repair all wires

3 are definitely cut, the other 5 have copper wire showing...

Did you get the clunking on full lock sorted?
I had this problem, I changed the top mounts & Spring seats & that cured it

In got them & the spring seats from main dealers, but I believe euros do front top mounts for £25 or so each.
Doing the front top mounts & seats has made a massive difference to the way the steering feels, it's so smooth now, well worth doing

Having the car back into garage this week to look at a few niggles:

Front suspension noise - same one as before but gotten worse
Upgrading rear upper top mounts to stiffer monroe ones
Brake fluid - well overdue. Will use ATE super blue

I also have the glow plug module fail, having rough cold starts. Do i need to do this soon or can it wait, what will happen if i wait?

Also rear pads are nearly done. Only got 20k miles i think. Do use cruise control a lot and go through stop start traffic

Yep, had to connect the 3 wires which were cut and all works now. By design the wires are pinched, but you can release it from the pinch and give it more room, which i did.
