Audison Bit DMI, Will it work like this?
I have a Bitone installed in my E92 335d 09/2006 build date. At the moment I have the speaker level outputs from the CIC headunit feeding the high level inputs on the bitone. The system works fine, however I would now like to move to using the digital output on my CIC headunit to feed a Audison Bit DMI and then optical to my bitone.
At the moment on my MOST Loop I have a combox installed and there is also the S694 cdc prep on my car so there is a spare MOST connector in my trunk. My question is, after coding the headunit to enable digital out, will I have to run a new MOST cable from the headunit to the Bit DMI or can I just use the spare one for the cd changer? Any advice would be appreciated, Thank you |

Unless the Audison say's it will use a Most output instead of Toslink
(which is the standard for home and most other optical formats) you will need a most to toslink translator. The Most optical output protocol is not the same optical language as toslink. Company's like mobridge make these. http://mobridge.us/product/da1-digital-pre-amp-most/ Kind of makes it impractical to do. Yeah you could re purpose the cd fiber you just have to route it into most hub. But you still have the Most to toslink hurdle. Last edited by ctuna; 07-10-2019 at 11:27 AM.. |

Thank you for your response, I'm sorry, you may have misunderstood. The Audison Bit Dmi is the MOST to Toslink translator.
https://www.audison.eu/products/bit-dmi/ So I'm thinking Most output from CIC headunit into Audison Bit Dmi, that will then adapt to Toslink optical out into the optical input on my Audison Bitone Dsp. I'm not sure whether I have to buy some fibre optic cabling and connectors from bmw to add to my MOST Ring Loop or whether I can just use the pre installed cd changer MOST cable. I think basically I'm looking for advice on how to physically connect a device into my MOST Loop correctly. Thanks |

I thought those connectors were standardized. wouldn't you be using a most bus cable on one side and a toslink on the other side of you translator. The cd changer cable should work. You have to add it into the Most Hub which in most cases is behind the rear seat side bolster on the on the US steering wheel side. Most http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=727663 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=347222 https://www.google.com/search?q=BMW+...VCkMqy2aCK09M: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...php?p=19256760 cd changer install pdf also tells you how to route the cable into the most hub. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4194 Last edited by ctuna; 07-11-2019 at 12:59 AM.. |
