never saw salt or snow, the coating does have some chips after being on the car for 5 years, but the inside of the core is super clean

Let me start with saying I am interested in finding one of these for my 135i, but why is this rare? It is still sold new on many websites and I have to second the weathered comment, an important part of the intercooler is the ability for air to flow through the fins which looks to be compromised. Condition as a little too rough for me.

the rare part was that AA didn't sell many of them since you could find lower quality IC for less, also the black coating was an extra option, at the time they had to make to order these because of the extra cost most people choose the regular style, likely most 335i buyers wanted a bit of flash,

to all the meets I went to and forums browsed, they are very few of these, likely due to the original $600 price tag, most are running VRSF, RPI, ETS and no brand China/eBay I have never seen a black one for sale.

the flow thru the fins is not compromised, its just a bit dirty, I can blast it with brake cleaner so it looks "shiny"

the black coating is peeling from chips, being so low in the front and on the car for 5 years ~40K miles it has some cosmetic ware, I can spray paint the chipped parts so it looks "shiny" or remove all together
