Looking for help diagnosing a transfer case issue.
When accelerating lightly between 1500-2000pms i get this clunking/banging noise. If im about 50% throttle and under 2k rpms, the car feels like it's fighting itself and struggles to accelerate until i hear a loud clunk. When decelerating in neutral i also hear the same popping/clunking noise. On full lock turns i do not experience clunking. I have no codes or lights on. If i remove the front drive shaft or unplug the transfer case the car drives as normal. I reset the tcase adaptation values but to no avail. I have new fluid coming in the mail. Has anyone dealt with an issue like this before? |

I just dealt with this with my E83 x3, I changed the fluid replaced the transfer case motor. Reset the adaptations and it's been smooth since then. I was worried the transfer case was smoked and thankfully it was not.
