Please Help. PLEASE. . . aftermarket radio, now window stuck open!

I feel like a noob all over again 25 yrs into the game, but I will succumb to the forum gods onces again...

2008 328xi 'winter beater', base, 6spd, 135k. 'Professional CD'
I bought an 'ebay special' touch screen for replace the dead pixeled oem unit. I was in the process of installing it, when i popped a fuse. (14 i think). Replaced it, hooked up everything no dice. . no power, nothing. i put the old unit back in, works perfect. there's a chance, i guess, that i received a DOA unit?

However, in the process of checking ALL the fuses, and trying to get power to the unit, NOW my driver door panel switches don't control anything - no other windows, no mirrors, nothing.

A few notes:
- I unhooked the battery 3 or 4 times - did the wheel turny thing to get rid of the wheel speed sensor light
- I dont seem to have or am an idiot and can't find the MOST Bus ring in the - glove box that everyone keeps mentioning.
- everything else works, that i can tell?
- I have the (slashed out) SOS light on
- And now i have a big whole in my dash, a driver's window half way down.

I read where a few ppl ran a hot wire directly to the unit, but that seems to be...not a good idea, all things considered (battery drain?) because these don't have a constant source of power?? Also, seems like a bad idea considering the closed ring fiber optic setup.
https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=642881 (here's that)

So many threads about this, but seems fickle: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=642881

Here's a MOST bus reset thread https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/m...-reset.646515/

Please help. I nearly rolled it into the creek a few minutes ago...

Will check this in the morning (driver window switch panel fuse):
(there's a chance, I guess, I didn't put the fuse back in correctly.

Professional Cd does not have a touch screen.
So by ebay screen did you mean an aftermarket head unit?

European cars may not have a Most Bus Ring there
are CD73 pro radio's sold in Europe that don't have Most
Bus connections.
No idea where MPLS is.

You didn't say what your stock sound setup was Stereo , Hi Fi or Logic7
One of the common mistakes made with installing these is not transferring
the Fiberoptic from the stock OEM connector to the new one that plugs into
the new unit.

None of this should have anything to do with your door problem .

I live in Minneapolis = MPLS.
My aftermarket head unit is a touch screen.

I don't think my setup is hifi OR Logic7; no badges anywhere? there is a unit in the rear, driver's side trunk area and the MOST unit under the rear cargo mat.

You are not being detailed enough in describing what you have and what you
installed.

You are not taking the time to understand the system.

You must identify the Head Unit and sound system that was in it originally .
Use Mdecoder.com and run your vin the option's installed are in the 6xx range
for the Head unit and entertainment system.

Read these.

I figured it out - Had nothing to do with anything you posted.
I just cleared all the errors from the FRM, disconnected the battery, reinstalled the head unit and it all worked...including the new driver door switch panel.

Once you really learn INPA / NCSexpert and the full suite of BMW Tools, you can basically diagnose any issue; really quite amazing once you get in there.

Thanks though, SeaToona for your suggested links. You seem to be the recurring poster on all of these threads and I'm sure have helped many ppl.
