wow fantastic price!

considering it, but also interested to hear peoples thoughts on a 3rd party to install.. does anyone know any details on the process?

does it need coding to the car etc?

with my rough sums.. i imagine i'm looking at 1.5hrs labour?

You could PM her the details of your car, and perhaps she might be able to squeeze you in (probably a little more £'s due to window trim speaker trims required on the e91).

This is a fair list in order of quality:
(1)=most basic to (5)=best

1 = standard "stock" stereo
2 = Loudspeaker system BMW BUSINESS
3 = Alpine
4 = Harman/Kardon (Logic 7)
5 = Individual Audio

Well done to Annekae and the Sytner gang! Really good to see you taking the forum sponsorship to new levels

Logic 7 system is what replaced Harmon Kardon so they're very similar. The answer to your question is that yes you will be wasting your time.

05-01-2009, 04:19 PM ...and how long ago was that ?

Seriously I think it's just a bit rude the way you're going about it. I think it typically takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours to fit as per BMW's recommendation (maybe I'm wrong).

Good on Anneka for at least getting a fitted price that looks half decent compared to your typical £650+ dealer quotes.

well, by my calculations it's last year.. what has that got to do with it? it's the same product, only difference is VAT and correcting for that would be ~£460

whats so rude? i think its rude that BMW charge ~£135 p/h + VAT for labour.. the price anneka has got for the actual goods is what it should be, i..e minus the dealer tax, and good on her!

I believe that Barons charge the "accessory rate" for fitting. I was going to give them a call but Anneka's deal looks reasonable and I work near Sytner Sunningdale.

The parts have also gone up by over £100 in the last year. That's how long that I have been considering this update!

Nope, its not just VAT. Many people may not be aware that since last year BMW part prices have shot up across the board several times. Whoever got it fitted last January or maybe earlier, great on them! Even in that price there would have been a deal. The documented fact remains that most current 'normal' prices are circa £650.

Without wishing to cause an arguement. The point I'm making is that your posts could lead some people to believe that this GB is a big con and that is not a nice thing. The fact remains that even current 'discounted' prices from any dealership are going to be fair bit more than this GB price.

ah i see.. sorry didn't mean to imply that it was a con.. just that it looked (whilst i didn't know the prices had gone up so much!) like the 'deal' should/could have been better.. and you weren't saving really that much

stand corrected, nothing to see here now.. move along

I would like to add that the my team and BMW UK have pulled out all the stops for this, and we've all worked really hard to bring this price to E90post. That said, currently, I'm no service manager's best friend

I appreciate that there has been some conflict over the pricing, but I would like to confirm that the price is significantly reduced and that I hope those of you who are interested will see the deal in this. Thank you to those who have for putting their names down
