Garage List
W3yre, I suggest you look up Awsaws & Russjonesr, they have very quick 35is that run 11 second 1/4 miles. If you wanna know what mods are needed to build a quick car they are your guys.
There's some good info on what mods they've done & some good vids of how quick their cars are on the RWYB santa pod thread

If you are DCT box a custom tune is a must. Cant' recommend BQ tuning enough, i.e dimitri.

Stock turbo's can see 500bhp with the right tuner and fuel/meth.

Upgraded turbo's are gonna struggle past 550bhp without major fueling upgrades and or meth as well.

If your goal is only around 450-500 id just get them rebuild as hybrids with better wastegates and save money.

I'm a bit of a newbie on n54 platform

What fuel related upgrades are required to be hitting 550bhp?

An upgraded(stage 2) LPFP(low pressure fuel pump) and ethanol can get you into mid 500's, or add PI(port injection).

I had to go new turbo route regardless as the front one was goosed.

So just picked up my stage 2's off Chris from Bespoke Tuning. Top quality service. Managed to have them turned around within 2 weeks from me sending him a deposit.

Look very smart indeed. All new and redesigned mani with V band so install and removal is a lot easier. Should be a bolt on swap and good for over 500bhp with intercooler etc. Already got catless DP's

Next on the list is charge pipe, inlets, outlets FMIC, oil cooler, LPFP, then in future possibly thinking running meth, either just from the 2 CP ports or find a cheap enough DPI kit

The turbos look good quality from the photos, casting and finish looks OK.

Do they provide any information on them, what frame are the based on Td03 or Td04, inducer, exducer sizes, trim, ball or journal bearing CHRA?

Please post as much info on these as you can, I'll be very interested on their fitment and performance once fitted and mapped, at this price, if they fit well and perform as they say, with some sort of durability then they look a bit of a bargain.

http://www.bespoketuning.co.uk/produ...age-2-500-bhp/

That's the link to them from their page bud. Tells you all on there. But they are MHI TD04's

Contact them directly and speak to Chris. He will sort you out with price and what he'd recommend based on your goals 👍🏼 spot on service from him and seems a real genuine nice guy.

Also spoke to a guy on here called Dino who done some initial testing with them when they were first being developed and he had them on his 135i he used for regular track days and ring trips and said they've stood up to a lot of punishment off him with no issues, so all good things to hear.
He said they actually made about 467bhp with stock inlets and DP's I think too but dialled them back to the 443bhp figure shown on the site write up about them. This wasn't off a custom map and rolling road tune either. Just through logs and MHD I believe, then on a dyno to see what it made, so a custom live map should see more power and then comfortably more with the extra bolts ons too.

Keep you posted once I get the rest of the shopping list and bits together in the new year ready to install 👍🏼

Same make inlets just larger as my hybrids have a 2 inch inlet rather than the stock 1.75 inch

W3rye, I’m eager to here your view on these.

Have you fitted them now?

If so how are they, I’m interested in what they are making just bolted on and then mapped if you are going that far. To see if you have similar numbers to the stated figures posted above.

Keep us updated

The internal casting finish on these look very smooth from the photos compared to other hybrid turbos which has really stood out to me on these, or is it just my eyes..

What are the insides on the cast manifolds like, similar?

Still no update??

There is a good discussion in the N54 board/thread about Dynamic Autowerks Turbo from US. Works out to about £1300 shipped. Supposedly the same turbos as Pure etc

Sounds like a bargain and looking to go for it when my time comes to upgrade.

The truth is all these upgraded hybrids suffer from issues after a couple of years, the wastegate rattle returns eventually due to an inherent design flaw, its not worth spending big bucks on them. If you want to spend big bucks, just go to LFR for a single turbo conversion and get the big performance to go with it!

I had a "stage 2" upgrade from Turbo Dynamics fitted three years ago at a cost of 2.5k just for the turbos. They cannot hold boost to the redline, the wastegate rattle had to be fixed again after one year, and one housing had an internal crack next to the exhaust wheel which is leaking oil. They made 501bhp at 20 psi with 99 RON with full bolt ons. To give you an idea.

Currently running meth injection at 24 psi, rolling road day at Surrey RR on the 18th to find out what it's doing.

I've bought some of the Chinese TD04-L 17t turbos which will be fitted end of the month, these are getting good feedback now, capable of well over 600bhp with enough fuelling. For example, the 16t slightly smaller version of these made 549bhp and a bit more on torque on a different car, 22psi no meth...

I'm waiting for N20 TMAP sensor as my tuner requested it instead of Bosch 4BAR I currently have. New map with 22PSI target is ready and waiting for postal service to deliver my sensor.

Once I dial new tune in, I will get my car on a rolling road to see what it comes up with on VPower 99.
I'm running TD04H hybrids and a lot of mods on my car. Becasue this is my daily, I try to stay away from meth, planning on running two HPFP's and E85 later this year to see if I can break 700HP crank.
TD04 even on my old map created for stock hybrids are giving a lot more torque and keep pushing air till the end of rev range, no taper at all.
