I don't want to get into differences in tunes again but not everything is as equal as you're thinking is is. 300bhp is an achievement - 300whp is a pipe dream. |

Not really understanding the fascination with nitrous other than street drag racing or something, utterly useless otherwise. And street drag racing is the province of children and retards afaic. We're looking for ways of optimizing the NA engine as an NA engine so there's not a whole lot else possible other than internal modifications as bolt-ons are hp-limited. It's a tough problem especially given the costs involved. We know a ~380bhp (engine dyno number) has been built for race use and isn't even remotely streetable but its cost has got to be pushing $50K, if not more. Speed costs money. And sanity, I think.

No.no no argument there as its only what a saw. That's what I was getting at, since a 330 is around the 220 mark, and if you add headers, mad delete, and a custom tune, do you see an extra 40hp bump?I would imagine a 330 should be alot stronger that the 25, 28 cars. The dyno numbers are deceitful as we know, when your seeing 250 and you car is 220, makes you wonder. Thanks guys.

Junior I think you're thinking of the olden days when BMW naming conventions made sense. a 328 used to be a 3 series with a 2.8 liter engine... a 325 had a 2.5L Engine....now names are erroneous since our 328s have a 3.0 liter engine and the new 328 and 330 have shitty little 2L 4 bangers

I was only referring to the dynos that I saw. AA had posted there 250 rwhp with there header, 3si, kn, and custom tune, Bps showed they done similar with maf deletes, and n54 intakes. The lift mod is only in beta and with all that's been tested, you would think this mod could be what everyone has been waiting for...more lift. I could see this going to 265 area when it's in its final. 3002 til's car is a strong 235 with just headers, if your to put a tune, maf delete, and lift mod, in that car, it would be in that range. I won't go any further and don't want to go into drama. It would be a great mod and can't wait to see how far it goes, great job CM.

Easy there Captain sarcasm.
I'm saying they were better than s drive, e drive, idrive, etc. It used to be easier to know what was under the hood. The system Lutz put in place made more sense to consumers. |

I may reupload my AA header tune and get the car back on the dyno. Turns out my car's a little heavier than I thought so I can afford a bump in power. I'm hopeful my AA software yields more than +5whp.

He has a point. There really never was a time that a "325" honestly meant it was a 2.5l engine. So whatever "golden days" you're talking about, never existed.

Both cars were manual that I saw, agreed on the autos, Didn't Axioms car dyno around the 250 mark, no argument, just thought is was possible, and that if an n54 intake was added with this mod,,is there more with a custom tune? These little bumps are adding up...

Man I really need an excuse to pull my valve cover. Stupid non-leaky engine.
CobraMarty, if I already have the stage 1 shims, can they be further modified for stage 2? I haven't done anything with them yet. yes he did, but he has a BPC tune, not AA. |

I have one last set of the 'Stage 2' supports already machined.
I guess if you want to return your stage 1 supports to me, I can send you the set of Stage 2 that I have all ready. I could resell the stage 1 supports or put them in the next batch to go to the machinist. The Stage 2 are $50 more than the Stage 1 (additional machining) + shipping from 19067 to you. If that works? WTB- Does anyone have any stock supports they want to sell? I'll give you $50 for a set of 6 shipped to 19067. |
