Hi guys,

Was looking at steering wheel wraps, and found a possible purchase.

Thoughts on this one ?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013Y5Q0GU..._zlifCbR6H0TCF

I've seen some members with wrapped steering wheels and it looked good.

My interior is beige but I plan to wrap my wood silver.

I got a similar wrap, did it myself with the wheel off and airbag off.
What I found is the fitmet is not that great.
There is too much excess at the 9 and 3 o'clock.
They do come with double side tape, so you can make it not buldge or wrinkle too much, but I didn't want to use sticky tape on a heated steering wheel.

Maybe if you have someone who does it well, give it a shot.
Also, you can find it cheaper on aliexpress, that's where that amazon listing is coming from anyway.

Good luck and post pictures if you do get it

I've been looking for a good deal on a sport heated wheel with paddles and airbag.
The problem is they all have dents or scratches on them
Plus being expensive at around $800 CAD.

Here is something interesting.
I have been in contact with this seller, looks like they do custom wheels.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E90-E91...2-80cee00cea73

In my case, I need a heated steering wheel, so he quoted me $375 + $59 shipping for that wheel minus the multifunction buttons placeholder and no airbag.

I thought I would save up on changing airbags, but for $434 USD for basically just the wheel, that's a bit much.

This seems to be a really clean one https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-DCT-LCI...i/192737673562

Again, way too expensive for me.

The first link was a nice wheel but yeah like you said, very pricy.

Garage List
2011 BMW 128i  [10.00]
2010 BMW 328i  [10.00]
I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've done a number of the Wheelskins leather covers so this was only a bit more complicated. These pics are right after installation and I was disappointed at the fit on the 6 o'clock position. Over time, though, and with some massaging, it has smoothed out and tightened up.

I can't stand the non sport steering wheel on my 330i. The rim is just to thin. Wrapped mine similar to the poster "sheedi" in https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1441553.
It takes time to get it right. The key is alignment. Took me awhile and do not pre-tape the cover. Instead stick the tape as you sew one section at a time.
I really like the feel of it. For $30 and some sweat equity it makes better sense than buying those overpriced used units. To me anyway. YMMV.

And just a FYI, if you have a heated steering wheel; those wraps are not going to affect the heat.
I like the feel of the extra thickness, I would have loved to get the thumb (rests/bolsters?) and the actual thickness of a nappa sport wheel.
But for these prices...man! I might visit some junkyards, see if I can score a deal.

Don’t do it. All diy wraps look terrible. Just buy a $10 Walmart special and call it a day.

You could get it reupholstered. There is a guy on eBay from Lithuania who sells some custom BMW Performance "style" steering wheels that are custom wrapped in Alcantara or Leather for E90 and other generations. His reviews seem to be good and I was thinking about purchasing one from him considering his prices are 1/3 the price tag of genuine BMW Performance steering wheels.

Is it really unaffected? I find the steering wheel heat is sufficient, but nothing crazy. To the point where if adding a layer, it would naturally decrease the amount of heat felt by your hands, or at least taking a bit longer to reach those levels.

This is the only thing holding me back from re-wrapping my sport heated wheel...

I'm in Calgary and I can start feeling it heatup within 15 20 seconds.
After driving few minutes I sometimes turn it off because it gets too warm.

I guess you can try it out with one of those slip-on steering covers from Canadiantire. Try it for one day or even right in the parking lot and then return it.

Seriously - try this guy - his prices were fantastic and the work absolutely blew my mind. He even included free 2 day return shipping from England to the USA for me.

I cannot be more satisfied and my heated steering wheel still works great.

That looks incredible. How long did it take for shipping? What was the price range for those?

DAMN! That's exactly what I've been looking for: someone to redo a heated steering wheel with matching saddle brown stitching.
