As soon as I got closer to sea level I restarted the car and the code went away. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Another other guy who had the same code/problem doesn't have an Xede so I'm not sure it's related to the piggyback.
That's really odd. I've run my vehicle at up to 12,000 feet with no code problems. The only issue is if I'm lugging the engine (2000-2500 rpm) in 6th and floor it. Then I get a boost target code. And that only happens about 10% of the time.

I hit the speed limiter (158 mph indicated) at 9000 feet yesterday....no code. AA should look into that. Shiv went up to Boulder (6000 ft) and did some dyno runs there, so maybe AA should ask him how he made it work.

A b6 s4 ran a 15.8... I don't know if it was a auto or stick. The fastest non s/c M3 ran a 14.00. My best with my smg was a 14.1 with a 2.2 60 ft. SL 55 merc was running 13.5's and turbo porsche was 13.5's. AA s/c m3 gen 2 stage 3 on 100 oct ran a 13.3 and a vf s/c m3 ran a 13.3 also. I think the vf car was helped by the water to air intercooler. The 335's that were chipped ran well in the morning but got way slower in the afternoon. Many were having code issues .. the turbo tuner car was shutting down at half track. First thing in the morning , because of weather conditions and alt. ect the booth was reporting it was the equevelant of being at 4800ft. By the afternoon it was more like 6800 ft.
P.s.... Trying to launch a smg sucks big time. I was having to use burn out mode just to get off the line without bogging big time.

Had a good time ... I was nice meeting everyone...

Another good tire is Falken RT-615's, not quite a DR, but gives you a bot more tread life & is a hell of a track tire as well.
I want a drag radial,,I dont care what treadwear they have! I want traction

The procede error (where you need the lower boost map) happens @ WOT under boost from what I've read. In my case the car ran fine and made full boost. The problem would happen if I left the car off for awhile. I'd go to start it, and it would then throw the code / stay in limp mode. At first I thought it was an Xede or FP error, but when the TT car had the same bizarre idle speed error I started to wonder.

Not exactly. It happens under high engine load and low rpm. Like 60mph in 6th and flooring it. If you're at 4000 rpm and floor it, you never get a code.

Did any PROcedes have your issue? Just curious. Again at that 12,000 ft. summit I stopped the car and got out and walked around for a bit. Got back in and idled for a few minutes while I got ready for the downhill portion.

Never threw a code.

Sounds like a good time, thanks for reporting guys. Terry, excellent runs That is really impressive that you had faster runs than the SC M3's

That code probelm sounds odd though. At least it cleared up back down to lower elevation.

Very pleased with the performance of my 335i steptronic sedan..

Last time I came out to LACR with my 2006 M3, my best time was around a 14 flat at 100.1mph or so. At Famosa, I got a 13.554 @ 104.14, which was actually one of the quickest stock M3 times of the day. I know that the high elevation of LACR hurts the M3 more, so this time I brought my 335i. Another 335i owner told me its best to let the engine cool off for 45 minutes before running. But I didn't want to wait, and made like 4 runs in a row. (All together I made 21 till I ran out of gas!). Surprisingly the runs were pretty good considering I went straight from finish line to the staging lanes. My best runs were a 13.465,13.470,13.598. my best trap speed was 102.459mph. Interestingly enough, later in the day my ET sucked, but I had many runs over 102mph. I had traction problems later in the day, and had to modulate the throttle more, and sometimes the car would short shift into 2nd, so maybe thats part of the reason. The car is so uneventful and easy to drive with the steptronic compared to my M3. The first time I ran against the with Turbo Tuner coupe, my car shifted into 2nd too soon, so I asked him if we could run again. I beat him to the finish line due to my quicker reaction time, but he ran a .024 second quicker ET 13.797 vs 13.773, but it was lots of fun. More impressive is I was running on a totally stock 335i, 1800 miles, and on run flats! Well, it was fun talking to everyone, including Driver 72, as we are both very technical. I won about 50% more races than I lost, and most of the loses were against modified vehicles. Fortunately my reaction often time was about 1/2 that of the other driver in many of the runs (.14 sec). I even had a .073 and .094 second reaction time on a couple runs, which is pretty decent. I also had one -.001 ! That is close! You generally get better with more experience. I was actually amazed at how slow some of the modified cars, and big AMGs were running. I know the SL55 AMG and CLS63 AMG have about 500 horse power, but my best times overlapped into their E.T. range. Of course at sea level I'm sure they are monsters. The one E39 M5 seemed to run right around 14.5 seconds at less than 100mph. I will try and list the times that I recorded, but I have to get another report done.

You guys did damn good, congrats!

Most of the cars ran like crap, some stage 3 B5 S4's were trapping 109, 110, which is far below their norm, but we all knew this about LACR, but there were some S4's that ran pretty good, but far below their normal 120+ traps, fun day regardless.

Best I did was 13.25 at 108 MPH, 2.1 60'. VF - Engineering Stage 1 SC'd M3, 5.3psi, DR's, full weight.

The RS6's did terrible, mid 13's, 14's at 101-104 MPH, I believe they were both chipped as well.

By looking at the times, you can see how even going against a faster, more powerful car, it can still be a drivers race. An M3 convertible turned in faster times than some of the coupes. And if I ever told you that my stock 335i sedan could turn in a time as quick as a 500HP AMG Mercedes, you would think I was lying, but if you look at the times that people actually get, you can see how some people might actually think they beat a faster car because they had a little .50 second head start on the take off.

So here is an unofficial compiliation of the times that I observed. Unfortunately those damn timing lights are hard to read sometimes with their missing bulbs. (Someone should tell them to fix those!) I was in my car running for much of the time, so Im sure that I missed many of the better times that some of you ran. So again these are only the times that I observed, or had people run against me. I am sure I messed up on the VW model names, and some of the Audis, but at least this should get you a rough idea of the times that were run:

2011 BMW 335is  [10.00]
Great time on the stock 335i at that elevation! It looks like the factories 0.2 bar overboost really helps at the higher elevation.

I have seen this question come up, but never really answered. Does the PROcede, or even AA xede, still allow for this overboost? If it still does, then maybe this is what caused some 'code errors' as someone mentioned. I recalled Shiv testing this out at some point during the beta testing, so I am assuming it was addressed in development.

If the overboost function is not present, this could explain why the stock 335i faired so well against the modded 335is.

No.
Both PROceded cars never threw a code.
There have been several PROceded cars run at LACR in recent weeks, including mine. No issues. And as ADHD said, he lives like 10 minutes from LACR and drives up there all the time with his PROcede, no codes.
I did however, throw a brief code on one run when I floored it going into 3rd and traction was SO BAD a few weeks ago, that it spun like crazy and the tach whipped PAST redline, which threw a code.
But by the time I drove back to the pits it had cleared itself.

This also happened to me once when I raced a 05-07 Mustang GT (and wasted it), but again within a minute or two after I turned off the freeway the code cleared. Car never lost any power or faultered, just the brief codes.

Maybe Raybrab can chime in too and see if his TT car cleared the code once he got back down closer to sea level. The white TT coupe had no issues however.

and trapping like DLJ5S said...in the 101-104 range, which is way off from their norm. Seems like most cars were trapping anywhere from 4-7 MPH from their "norm", compared to other tracks. I mean....Chipped RS6's should be in the 108-111 range or higher easily. 996TT trapping 107? Tells you about the conditions.

the best times of the day that i remember were as follows:
11.15 or something from an 86 GTI (forgot the trap)
11.52@119.7 Dark Blue Stage 3 S4
11.6@124 or something from a 500+ whp A4
11.9@120 Cactus Green Stage 3+ S4
11.9@115.xx Nogaro Stage 3 S4

the 034 Motorsport Audi Quattro you have above was much faster....it trapped 126-128 from what i remember, forgot the ET

Conditions were less than ideal as said......but most importantly, eveyone had fun. The 335i's held their own imo, as did a couple SC M3's under the conditions. I was happy with my results from the Audi camp, my best ET was 12.3@114.9 and my best trap of the day was 116.331. See ya all at the next German Invasion..........GI2 hopefully in the fall
