Hi all,

I recently bought a E90 (330i) from 2006, and I noticed this week that the sound was really ‘flat’. After investigating further while not driving, it seems that no sound comes from the subwoofers. I also heard that there’s a sort of distorted sound coming from the right speaker with every bass ‘punch’ when bass volume is set high. While driving, though, I can’t really hear that sound (but maybe that’s because of the driving noise). Could anyone tell me where I should start looking? Could this be an amplifier issue?

Try to figure out which sound system you have.
This is not about the Head Unit its about amps and speakers
or the lack there of .

BAse system is POS
Hi Fi system almost tolerable(even the hi fi has little output
from its weak or distorted if you turn it up
top HI fI You can live with it.

Hi ctuna, thanks for your reply! Did some investigation and found my car has the BASE system.

UPDATE: it’s not the BASE system, but the basic HiFi system.
