My car is currently being delivered to the port of exit. Hopefully it will get on a ship that is leaving this Thursday. Anyone else waiting for their car to be put on a ship? I'm from Rockland County, NY.

It hasn't gotten onto a ship yet which is why I wanted to see who else was in my situation.

mine is being transported to the port of exit, maybe we'll get on the same ship. owner's circle website is very, VERY slow to update. the 800 number is king.

That's 3 on the way to the port, looks like we're all east coasters...when you have updates, please post. haven't got my VIN number yet, I've been going with the production #. pretty sure from what I've been reading that you need the VIN number to track while on the boat?

you can find your vin# in the oc...under order details or something like that...its in there though

Called the 800 number this morning; still being transported to the port of exit. There's a ship leaving this Thursday for the east coast (NY). Hopefully we'll all make that one.

I just checked the 800# today and it changed to awaiting transportation. So hopefully i will make that ship. I checked that cargo website by my vin # and my vin hasnt been booked into there system yet

what is the website to check this???? i guess i'll have to be checking that 5 times a day as well as calling the 800 number

soma4u, the shipping company’s website (Wallenius Wilhelmsen) is http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/index.jsp ---- for east coast deliveries.

once at the shipper's website, under which type of tracking would I look under since there is no "vin#" search

then go to cargo tracking.. then click auto cargo.. then entet in the full vin# in the cargo id space. It will then tell you the vessel its on. Then track the journey by vessel and it will show you all the stops it makes b4 reaching nyc.

According to the (800) #, my car is also at the port, waiting for a shipping vessel. I'm in S. FL, so I'm not sure which ship they'll put my car on and which US port it will eventually arrive at...either Brunswick, GA or Charleston, S. Carolina, perhaps?

I think BMW needs to build special speed ships to bring em over!! Ill pay an extra $500 to have the delivery time faster.

Yes, it is only logical that there are multiple east coast VPCs. Otherwise, why would a car that is going to Charleston stop at the Jersey VPC (NYC docking first) and then be put on another ship for Charleston. Or vice versa: ship to Charleston first, then go to Jersey VPC, and then back to your dealer. I'm certain that there is a local VPC near each port.

I would assume the port that it will arrive at is the one that is closet to your dealer (depending on whether or not BMWs ship to GA or VA).

My car is at the port too. It has been there since Saturday. I'm in California, so I'll be on a different ship than most of you.

I keep calling the 800# hoping to hear it is "En Route", but not yet...

Yes, I figured that it will come into either the GA or SC port but I know that Jacksonville and Miami are big shipping ports in FL. However, I don't see any of these WW shipping vessels going directly to FL ports, so I guess my car will be on a truck from GA or SC down to West Palm Beach, FL in about 2-3 weeks.
