all is well and sunny in Southampton. I'm glad the ship made it through the Straight of Dover yesterday, saw how busy that area is on the latest episode of Topgear (BBC), scary.

How exciting! Have any of you gotten estimates from your dealers on how much time your car will spend in the VPC? Mine told me 10-14 days! That's seems much longer than the average experienced by most of the people whose posts I've read in this forum. My dealer is BMW of Manhattan--literally just a few miles away from the port. I'm hoping it will be more like 5 days in reality.

mine said 3-4 days, and based on what I've seen on various forums, 2-4 days seem legit.
It's probably past the fall foliage season, but I'm taking my vert up to CT for a joyride as soon as I get it. I got the AIS UK tracking thing constantly refreshing, it should show the ship start moving when it departs.

I was thinking the same thing -- I really wanted to go on a fall foliage trip, but from what I've been reading, we'll have our cars a few weeks after the peak time. Oh well, I might still do it anyway!

Even if my car arrives early, I don't plan to pick it up until the weekend. I want to have my new insurance rate at 25 yrs old.
Nothing like picking up a car on the birthday. Except for the part of taking the local bus to the dealership.

still seems to be in the dock. I'm guessing that the WW site is saying that the ship is booked and ready to leave. In any case, we should see it moving on the above site soon.

Interesting, Courage's departure from Southampton seems to be delayed until tomorrow according to the voyage schedule now.
The arrival date of 10/29 hasn't changed though. Yet. |

Tell me about it....the wait is killing me...the way I make the time go by faster is by reminding myself of all the errands and work and other stuff I need to get done before the first week of November. That way I sometimes feel like I'm running out of time. Lol.
Anyways, Courage seems to have finally reported its position and position history about 2.5 hours ago. From sailwx.info: |

The other chart/map I care about, please stay warm, just a few weeks longer. I went to college in CT, can't wait to drive up for a weekend and see some nice scenery. Driving around in a civic was good, the mini was fun, this is going to be a blast!

+1...if I can see something in lower upstate NY or CT in early-mid November that would be fantastic. I guess Courage will send another update around 8 PM our time.

I do have a Mac (PowerBook), but the screenshots were taken with my desktop, which runs Vista. Vista has a handy screenshot-taking tool (so advanced!) but most of the time it makes me feel like this:
Btw, where in NYC do you live? I live in Manhattan and I've been keepin an eye out for 3 coupes. So far I've only seen 4 of them. Most of them aren't street parked, I'm guessing. Mine won't be |
