WinKFP FRMR3 Issues

I'm trying to update my FRM3 because it has buggy software (won't hold values for ASP_COMFORT_EINKLAPPEN and cold/warm fog light check which I had on my previous FRM3 before I had to change it out because it had a hardware fault - a software update fixed the bugs originally) but the FRMR3 isn't showing in the WinKFP list at all in Comfort mode. I've just updated the files to DATEN v66.2 with the BMW Coding Tool but no luck there either.

The ZB is 6827064 and it shows in the Coding Tool when I 'Check ECU Update.'

Its a new laptop with a new software build so that's why I can't just replicate the fix from the original FRM3's update.

Any ideas?

Just select ZUSB and then select FRM3R group, enter VIN, and program. I bet that you won't solve anything with the update, and the issue is that you don't have a blank man file, and inserted proper password in ncs.

Good luck!

I’ve deleted the .man file, made the changes in the .trc and then renamed the file. What password? Never been prompted for a password in NCS. I’m using the expert mode profile.

Must be a problem with the datens.

You can select FRM2 as it has the same address as FRM3. Winkfp is clever and will detect the ecu family itself. Try it and see which zusb it recommends.

If it's not correct then I'm sorry but your assembly line data is screwed it. Uninstall and reInstall standard tools and datens.

You should also have FRMR3, this means that you didn't update properly the WinKFP database. Therefore, you are not able to find the mentioned zb number in the update section.

Try to use ncsdummy, and set latency of your obd cable to 1.
