FYI
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1002984 The stock audio system is a big part of the problem but the aux is the worst input. Its discussed in the above thread but its best to avoid the aux if at all possible. |

It is absolutely possible to get a bluetooth receiver that will pump the sound out into the aux input. I've seen quite a few of this type of products on various eshops. Quality is an unknown for me, I've never been in a car where that was done. I suspect you would trade some sound quality for ease of use, variety, etc, but nothing that would make your ears bleed unless you go for ultra-squeezed MP3s. I'll put a couple of references to give you an idea of what's out there. You just have to decide what charging method you can live with I guess. Bound to be a billion reviews on Amazon to help you pick. If you have factory Bluetooth you might want to scratch your head a bit to make sure it wouldn't mess with your calls.

i use the kinivo btc450 into the aux along with my android phone. this combo will do aptx bluetooth, and I am quite picky about audio quality and think this sounds fantastic. i cannot tell a difference between this and high quality digital media via the thumbdrive in the usb center console.

My first solution was to hack together a DIY bluetooth receiver to feed into the Aux: http://yzrandome.blogspot.com/2013/0...-pkb-pcba.html
Later on I decided to try out the ViseeO Tune2air WMA1000 instead. It plugs into the little iPod dongle in my glovebox and is a bit more elegant of a solution. Didn't really notice any difference in sound quality between the two. More recently the WMA1000 stopped working and support from ViseeO is nonexistant. I bought this thing from Coolstream and it has been working fine ever since: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The most annoying thing about using the iPod adapter is that the car seems to reset back to the radio input every time vs staying on Aux if you use that one. I also messed around with feeding audio directly into my PP82DSP amp which should technically the best way to do it for quality, but then you use the ability to use all of the typical car's controls which I decided wasn't worth the inconvenience. |

I used this and took the console out and hardwired an Aux plug into the actual wires and bypassed the connector all together. I've been using it with no issues for a while now. Like stated above for another brand it supports APTX so it upconverts and sounds really good. Eventually I'd like to change the radio out and get the NBT system in but for now this will do!

My vote goes to HomeSpot NFC https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Works bloody well, and the fact that it starts as soon as the car starts sealed it for me. Didnt want to press 5 different buttons for a get ready and go procedure (As it is I fuss to much about my seating position ).
Not really too fussy about sound. Sounds pretty good to me.
