Did germany look good or was australia just sucking? i dont know but i can already see how the cup is gonna go. england and usa will be average, most teams will be below average and germany and i bet italy and argentina will be tops. I doubt there will be any surprises.

the reason why England are not as good as their hype is quite simple i reckon...

majority of the English players play for a premiership team and guess what... the prem teams are mainly made up with... yep foreign players!

so players like Lampard who do great in the league but SHITE at national level is because he aint got the class players around him like he has at club level!!

if u r surrounded by quality then u raise ur game or ur weakenesess are not easily as exposed!!

there is not an ounce flair in the English team... c'mon do u ever see an english player drop his shoulder or do a 'ronaldinho drag' or ronaldo stepover and leave the opponent for shit.... NOPE and doubt u ever will!!

our grass roots football coaching stifles flair, its all bout formation and going sidewards.

i could go on....

Heskey should never have made the plane for SA. He's a poor player and nine times out of ten when he's through on goal with just the goalie to beat he's going to miss. I can't stand him he's the worst forward I have ever seen.

Saw the game while visiting Las Vegas...went into what i thought was an American bar inside the Planet HOllywood hotel..turns out the ENGLISH took over basically..but there was a fair american presence (and yessss yessss we do ONLY HAVE 1 SONG! - whatever) Anyways after the first goal i think the English looked a bit nervy, a bit afraid to do anything too creative although they mostly dominated possession. Once you got that first "brilliant" goal, the English game seemed a bit conservative and it allowed us to more or less keep the English chances to a reasonable amount (didn't give Rooney enough of the ball or room)..we counter attacked decently and showed we can do that...sometimes we looked the part of a mid table MLS team but that's going to happen as we don't have depth. In the end Robert Green blew your Win. Period. But i thought he was a decent keeper watching him play for Man U on occasion. Oh well some bad luck for you but i figure the English will come out of their shells soon enough against the other two teams in the group, as will we hopefully!

Against the US we werent great but it was the first game and against a decent team.....but tonight was the worst England performance i have ever seen. Awful.
