Ok, one more thing to note:
With the cold weather here(around 40 in the mornings and evening) Ive been noticing that the car doesnt need to be warmed up to get power. Where when I had PROcede in the car, it seemed that my power was limited until I hit at least 215 degrees oil temp. Now I get full power whether Im cold(160) or warmed up. Its nice to have that kind of passing ability right after starting up. Not saying you shouldnt wait till the car is warmed up to start getting on boost. Just that its there if you needed it before it is warmed up.

I am always certain not to put the car under boost when the temperatures are below 200 (usually takes 10 minutes to warm up nicely)...but that is an interesting comparison. All I wish is that Helix gave us a ballpark, shall all testing go as planned, when the tuner might be available to market. I would like to know this as a courtesy to my modding plans (I don't want to wait 3-4 months where I can get JBS2 or order V2). I think if they are going to announce their tuner's introduction into the market, they should ballpark us a release, that way we are not left in the dark about this thing. There are a lot of other people that want to get a tune. I am waiting for the Helix and I would like to know a ballpark shall all testing go according to plan without any malignant errors.

Im not saying either is exact, but either could happen. Anything can happen. I know theres a rush to "pick" a tune and get it into a car as soon as possible to start enjoying it. However, a few months isnt that bad and considering its over the winter when most of us dont really want 14lbs of boost in the snow, its really an optimal time. Sit back by the fire, enjoy some hot cocoa and rest assured that when it does get released, the Attache will be one of the hottest contenders on the market. For those in the warmer climates, go visit those in the colder parts and try to pick up snowboarding in the meantime.

If anything came out that could preform close to V2 I will jump on it in a sec. Tell Helix to hurry up and not to market their product like Procede |

While I understand the frustration of many members of this forum, I do not want to turn this thread into a "bash the other tuner" thread. I want to keep this thread on target with giving as much information as I can about my testing the Attache. If anyone has any grievances about a different product, please take it to another thread.

Wouldn't "hurrying up" create the problems you seem to be referencing?

They can take however long they need to put out a worry-free product Its better than dealing with troubles after install and being without a car while its getting fixed or in the shop... At least right now we all still have our cars to drive. |

tell the guys in helix to just take their time. I'll not get my car till march, then wanna break it in tenderly, so I'm not on a hurry. Money is no issue, 2 nice new tunes on the way, plenty of time to choose the winner...

well currently there are absolutely NO codes on our tune nor do I forsee there being codes. there is one very minor area of the map I have to clean up down around 2400 rpms as the turbos are spooling up. all in all the map is very clean with only MINOR things that have to be cleaned up. Our next goal is to get one on an automatic(next week) and see how that car reacts, as well as 2 other local cars. Currently on my car I have been running a 13-15psi map(on pump gas) again NO codes or CE lights, the few little cleanup changes I make to the 11-13 psi map will work on the 13-15 psi map as well. so in nutshell we expect to have a total of 4 local cars with the attache on them in the next 2 weeks putting the mod through its paces and providing valuable feedback for the widespread release which will happen immediately after this feedback period. I also plan on dynoing the 13-15psi map on pump as well as race gas. and as soon as Riss gets the downpipes out to us we will develop a tune for those as well.

I dont see how the tuning would be any different at the track than anyone elses tuning? What specifically did you want to see? Im not discounting the fact that seeing it perform under heavy stress would be great but Im not sure what it should prove.

well, U know why is F1 considered the best testing lab of new technologies? So I hope there will be someone testing and reviewing it under heavy stress. And what should it prove? I'd say that "playing with maps" on a dyno and a few fancy pulls on the highway is nice, but maybe not enuff to test and not enuff to prove. I'd say if it can handle a few weekends of few hours on the track w/o issues, providing great performance while keeping the car reliable, I'm sold and I wont be the only one.

Do you want us to come back and say your oil cooler wont fail you, your tires will last longer or your suspension will feel tighter? I think thats an unfair position to put Helix in since there really isnt any tracks near them either unless someone drives 3-4 hrs in either direction and both will probably be closed soon due to weather constraints.

Fine, you got me. Still, did you find any results that you wouldnt have come across driving it hard on the street or at a dragstrip?

Not at all, like you said the real issue on the track is the water temp, oil temp, etc. If it works on a Mustang (load) dyno, it will work anywhere.
