About to order.

Hello everyone, this will be my first post and you got a great forum going on here.

I'm just about to order and the only thing left to figure out is the color. I originaly was set on white. But today i actually saw a saphire black and alpine white and for some reason the black car looks a little more "massive" for lack of a better word. The sheetmetal work seems to be a little more obvious also. I don't know if it was the lighing or the angles. I was wondering if for those who have seen both if you do notice differences in the overall look of the car?

thks

Hrm that's weird... if anything the white looked bigger to me in person than black. As for the bodylines being more obvious maybe it's because the various lines on the black casts more shadows and contrast than the white. Neither are as easy to clean as silver, but black is definitely much harder to keep clean than the white, so that's something u might wanna consider. But in the end I vote white becuz it will be more rare.

Plus I love how white looks with a white interior.

Got my LMs put on today. Love the wheels but now it needs to be dropped. Where will it end?

Wish1, it looks like you have the rears tinted but not the front (or they're lighter). Is that correct? Been wondering what that would look like. My state does not allow any front tint and I've been wanting to see what it would look like with just the rears.

wish1, I love LM's and they look great! Are you planning on putting spacers on the rear? At least the lowering will cost a lot less than the LM's

LEDZEP, There is no tint except factory on these windows. It must just be the light in the photo. She goes to the tint shop tomorrow. I am thinking 35% all around. I will let you know how it turns out.

Terps, there are 10mms in the rears. When he was installing the wheels he dropped the car off the jack to show me one in one out and it was a done deal. Makes a dramatic difference in the appearance. These wheels are +35 offset, with the spacers they net out at +25. I will take some shots from the rear to show the wheel in relation to the well.

Rear wheel shots with 18x8 LMs, +35 offset and 10mm spacers for +25 net offset. Stock run-flat 255/35/18 rear tires.

Thumbs up

Wish 1 - your ride is looking mighty, mighty delicious .... dayummmmmmmmy!!!

I like the way the wheels look on your ride, however, Quick Question ... why didnt't you go for the 19's? Was it because of the run flat tires? They would have made your vehicle out of this World!!

In any case, sweeeeeet looking ride, dawg! I love white BMW's with no side mouldings ... classic beauty! Now with the LM's .... nasteeeeeee!!!

I seriously considered 19s right up until yesterday when I made a final decision. They definetely look better on the car. But as I was driving around New York with the holes and the bumps and the steel plates in the street every other block my decision became clear. This is my wife's car (yeah really) and I can't have her alone in the car driving over this stuff with non-run-flats and no spare. Plus I don't know how your wives are, but mine isn't super careful with things like that. She pays much more attention to the people with her in the car than to the junk in the road. As it should be. So, I view it as a small sacrifice to practicality.

I hear you, dawg ... My wife is the same way and that is why I am driving my E90 and she gets the E36!!!

Those LM's on your ride are sick!! I wonder if your wife understands the "street cred" that comes with those rims!

No, and she don't care. She does have a good eye tho, she loves the look. BTW: I still drive my '96 Lex sc400, just getting ready to turn 100K. Lots of life left.
