Without a doubt the Stage II to III software upgrade is well worth the $500. You get a map designed to work with the FMIC. It's not just about boost and hp, but how the car drives. If I lived in Dallas I'd would be down for the OC. I'm going to see how my car runs on the II.5 way up here in Saskatchewan. If it runs hot or I get a limp mode, I'm getting it.

What is the best technique for getting my car to overheat.

Hey and keep me posted on whether you have any heating problems. I have the Dinan exhaust so I doubt I'll get the same top end boost, but I am very encouraged that you have had this result with the FMIC. That $3000 is feeling safer in my wallet.

The Dinan site claims a 5 hp lift with the FMIC. Is this when installed in a stock car? I agree, it sure would be nice to see a comparative dyno between II, II.5, and III.

I spent a little over 3k for exhaust and intercooler so, yes my "cheapass" feels good about the purchase. I do agree with you that the 5 hp must be on a stock car. I want the car to adapt more so time will tell. While driving home from work, I ripped it plenty and often and did see temps reach 250 for a point. The power does feel very consistent- ala less heatsoak. I have a 6at and I do feel that there is some lag with the larger intercooler but the top end rush makes up for it. It really hauls on the freeway. Muahaha!!!stage 2.5 represent. I still want stage 3 tho.

I'm holding off making another service appt before the June 12th date. No limps since the last one. Will have to wait and see what (if any) codes are stored when they hook it up to the diagnostic head. Possible explanations are 1/ HPFP 2/ MAP sensor 3/ Injector(s)

If something goes wonky again prior to next appt I'll take it in *otherwise I'm safe cruising around Calgary*. No road trips planned until later next month.

re: The 5HP gain from the FMIC install *without S3 flash*, after speaking with the Dinan rep today I'm inclined to believe that even the S2 flash will provide a modified flash if one indicates the vehicle has a aftermarket IC (software apparently prompts for various mods before install begins).

I will dyno later next week to get a comparison. I don't have a dyno on mine yet...was scheduled last Friday but I had something come up. Attorneyscott had his Stg. II non-revised + Dinan exhaust dyno'd and got 339.8rwhp and 370.5rwtq...I just took pics of his graph and am about to add that to his thread.

EDIT: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=142580&page=2 Here you can see Stg. 2 non-revised + Dinan exhaust dyno sheet

Hey, 335iBaller is from San Fran and he has a full on Stage III. Perhaps you guys should meet up at a dyno shop. I guess you can also race toward each other and see who gets closer to the other's town before meeting.

Wow, I'll make sure to tell Collin to click on the FMIC option when updating my Stage II flash.

This is all the badging I need. My buddy has a shop down here in San Jose so if 335iballer or anyone else wants to dyno on their awd mustang dyno-definitely not a dyno queen- but it will give good comparative numbers. I can set it up since he's been wanting to dyno my car.

I don't believe that I got a new grill...I assume its the same plastic one as OEM. I'll check. They did take out those two black plastic vertical braces to make the new IC fit. I did get the box the IC came in along with the OEM IC and OC...wonder if I could sell the OC to someone who needs one...hmmm...

Thank you, sir! I greatly appreciate the kind words. Its nice to hear even the slightest confirmation that this addiction is not lost on everyone...

As soon as the Morr VS8s arrive I hope I can lay off for a while...long enough to save my pennys for the supposed air box and racing exhaust coming out late summer....haven't gotten confirmation of Stg. IV flash to go with said upgrades, but it sure would be nice.

nice!!! i will find out next week..i am having it done too..it would have been sooner but they had to mod the inter cooler somehow and they had to send it back..so now they got the inter cooler and the oil cooler didn't come in..so i gotta wait a few more days.

great review though!! i am glad your happy..i still wish they would allow it without the oil cooler..it's kind of ridiculous..or offer a better deal when you buy all 3 esp to those who have bought stage2.
