if you are willing to pay lots a money to send it in to COBB to get it reset, by all means, do it. They did reset mine, for only $ 40, since the dealer reset my ECU without asking.

I suggest you call in COBB and ask them first how much will be for you. Do not buy it married.

Hey guys, I released some new firmware with a few bug fixes, monitor fixes, and cleaner code for install and uninstall. Take a minute and update your AP's. It DOES NOT require an uninstall and re-install, in fact I'd recommend updating the AP without uninstalling if possible so that you can take advantage of the new code next time you uninstall.

V2 firmware version: 1.6.8.0.0-7596
V3 firmware version: 1.7.0.0-7594

Cobb. I've PM'd you guys numerous times regarding whether or not your company will be developing units that will work with my vehicle. It's a production date March, 2013. E92 N55. Has the company given up on this DME and just started concentrating on the next platforms? PLEASE let me know.

This firmware will not affect the already installed V.200 maps, correct? So updating the firmware does not need the re-install of the map V.200?

Honestly its a matter of getting through security. BMW does a good job of locking down the DME. If I had a date to give you I would, but we aren't close at this point.

Well are there any PLANS to finish thru or just scrapping it since there are only a handful of this version of DME out..

Right now its still possible, but it will all depend on when everything is more sorted out. Even after we have a full solution, we'll need to create maps, and test thoroughly to make sure everything works as expected.

Thanks. Updated my AP3 without a hitch, and now up to 1.7.0.0-7594 firmware.
Will go and hook up to car now, and explore/upload the map. Wont be able to test them for a little while, as we are well into winter time here in Quebec Canada, with lots of snow accumulation in the last couple of days. Been running on valet map to decrease torque to the wheels a bit, and the N55 135i is a garage queen these days...

One thing to note, and I dont know if this is normal - The maps stayed at v2.00 in the AP. I went ahead and did a RELOAD into my N55, and the AP still indicated that V.200 was loaded into the car's ECU.

I tried one more step, which I know was not necessary, but I had to try. Did a full UNINSTAL and RE-INSTALL. Maps still indicated V2.00....

Does anyone know if we can get AccessTuner for our N55's? On the AccessTuner Race Beta Download Request Form I don't see my ECU model (98D0B) as an option, but there are AT instructions for the N55, am I just unlucky?

Here are the two replies I recieved from COBB regarding a 2013 E92 335 XI. One is from MAY 2013 and the other last week.

John,
So the 2012 - 2013 coupes are the e92 and use a different design DME compared to the F30 chassis cars. Hopefully we will have the newer e92 support here relatively soon, possibly in the next month or two with the F30 support coming after that. Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and if I can assist you with anything else, please let me know.
Thank you,
Tim

Hello John!
Unfortunately we have no plans to provide an Accessport that will work on your vehicle, sorry for the bad news! We would love to provide support for every vehicle around the world, but we just don't have the time or resources. The DME is different from the older generation. I'm sorry we couldn't help you out, but if you have any other questions, please let me know.
Thank you,
John

Unless the information I recieved is incorrect I wouldn't wait for a COBB.

Honestly I assumed the same considering they've ignored my PMs, posts and comments regarding the support for the last couple months of the E92 335s.

I love it. Excellent work. Thanks for the find

Thank god I didn't wait for the 2013 support. After I heard it would be released for this past summer I waited a few months but turned to the jb4 mis-summer as I had a feeling.

jgabucci,

I heard the same thing as you did in your second message from cobb. My info came directly from Cobb via a local cobb dealer. I think it's BS that COBB just doesn't come out and say that publicly. I bet they've know for a while but don't want to admit that they don't have someone in house with the skill to crack that DME. Either way, your message is dated 12/20 and yet publicly the same day, COBB states that they are still working on it.
