When I get to the step "Import > Assembly Line Data" I get "Error 806 Error on deleting assembly line data set(s)(WDP)"

Thanks for the guide, flashed it a while ago and flashed it back to stock a few days ago when I brought it in to the dealer in case they blame it on the flash.
Flashed it back again today and I clearly forgot how much faster the shifts are with this flash. In D, it definitely shifts extremely early. Pretty much can't even hear the exhaust anymore because it shifts at like 2.5k rpm. I don't hate driving in this mode like a lot of people do, I actually enjoy the new "eco" mode Whenever I feel like listening to my exhaust gurgle and pop, I just put it into S. And this did fix my jerky braking problem - jerkiness when coming to a complete stop and letting go of the brake. Pretty much felt like my brakes were biting normally and right before it reaches a complete stop it would bite super hard. Now I have to fix the paddles, I usually shift using the knob anyways. When I read the "your car is dead and you will see a gear logo", I got scared and left it the way it was. Btw, car is completely stock with only an intake and performance exhaust w/ quad tips. |

flash questions
First, thank you for this thread. You really simplified the process and made it much easier to understand.
I have a few questions: In the DIY it says "For newer build cars after the flash the paddle shifters no longer works...If this is the case you would follow part II of this DIY.." Could you define what constitutes a newer build car? I have a 2008 BMW 335i. Also, for JB4 tune, you mention putting in "valet mode/map 0" I think map 0 is simply disabling JB4. Do we do this only when flashing or also when first testing the transmission after flash? A lot of people complained that the Alpina B3 flash is not very good in the "D" mode. Is it severely different from stock mode? In other words, if I had to accelerate fast in "D" mode would there be a serious lag because of the low RPMs or need to downshift?

cn555ic so I think I'm all set and found all the files you referenced. I got all the way to step 9 on your guide to import pdf doc however I did not get an "error" message that you said not to panic about, does this mean I didn't do something right? My winkpf just opens up without any error messages..

OK I'm getting this same "Error: 106" and I bought the $100 cable you recommended from One-Stop-Electronics, what to do?
Also, after configuring Winkpf and closing and then reopening all the settings go back to default, could this be the problem? Last edited by dlbrooks18; 11-23-2013 at 10:36 PM.. |
