Thinking some maintenance, plugs and coils, as well as FMIC and the AFE DCI's I just got from Cashy by donating to Aus Cancer Research Foundation, once that's done I can move up to Stage 1 + FMIC
and of course then there's exhaust, wheels, shocks and brakes...... |

Grills make such a difference haha. How did you like the jump from stock to tuned ?
I wouldn't bother with an exhaust they all sound pretty average, these engines sound best with catless dps and no mufflers, just do it. |

Fitted these smoked LED indicators, not 100% happy with them, pretty sure I accidentally bought the post LCI versions, but they're better than cloudy stock ones, might change them again later

So I have my 7" FMIC which I'll at least begin fitting if the family car ever comes back from the repair shop...
Anyway my real question is while musing on this I've been wondering if fitting a bigger FMIC will create any lag building boost? Never really modded a turbo car before so have been pondering the effects of the bigger IC Any thoughts or advice welcome |

Bigger fmic = colder killawasps.
Period. You could try a mini refrigerator I don't think there are any major or noticeable differences in lag when upgrading. Unless you try something massive like a full size refrigerator. |

Did a quick log today, can one of you boys in the know have a quick look for me?
I'm also getting an intermittent error code 2A87, Vanos plausability?, so I was planning on buying new Vanos solenoids...good or bad idea? and if I replace them is there a list of other things I should do while I'm at it...? log URL http://www.datazap.me/u/hoper/11-dec...=0&data=3-5-21 P.S. Still have to fit my FMIC, intakes, outlets, plugs and coils, which will happen over xmas, will do another log then |

I've finally started work on the car, over the next 2-3 weeks it will get the following mods/maintenance
- AFE Intake - VRF 7" FMIC - New Intake and Exhaust vanos solenoids - Whiteline 22mm rear swaybar - Whiteline nolathene bushes for rear subframe and rear susp arms (diff bushes remaining stock to try and keep NVH down) - RB silicon turbo outlets - Brake calipers painted red and M decals added - Front lower grill sections painted gloss black - Oil change - New plugs and coils - Headlight cleanup (they're currently a bit foggy) - PE exhaust mod for stock exhaust - TIAL BOV (possibly, Cashy gavevit to me, just have to work out if I want to fit it) Cashy is a legend, apart from supplying the AFE intakes he also threw in the TIAL... Some photos of the first couple of hours I spent on ot today, just taking it to bits at the moment, also have to find an oil leak Photo 1 - before I started Photo 2 - Tool box - you need this Socks Photo 3 - Whiteline goodies Photo 4 - AFE and TIAL Photo 5 - FMIC [IMG][/IMG]Photo 6 - Up on the stands Photo 7 - Have to fix that oil leak... Photo8 - about 1.5 hours in, taking it slowly, don't know where everything is on this car Photo 9 - about 3 hours in, have a cold so put the tools downnfor today...it was 7pm Have a good Chrissy all...Hopey |
