NOVA Roads to drive?
Bought my 09 335i about a month ago from BMW of Sterling. The car wants to be driven and is tired of traffic filled commutes on the highway.
Looking for recommendations on favorite driving roads in Northern Virginia. |

Great ride, don't you think? In other words, just enjoy the drive, the scenery, get lost, then find your way back. It doesn't matter about the road or destination....

I want to find a good road to take a ride on, one that has open roads, 2 lanes both ways, lined up with trees on both side of the roads. Trees that are so thick with green foliage that it only allows bits of rays of sun to shine through.
Can I find a road like that in NOVA? |

VA645 west of Ox Rd (by Burke lake) is a nice road. It is a short drive but can do the job if you don't have enough time to head out west toward front royal.

There's a BMW Iphone app for this... I'm at work right now and cannot have my phone with me but I'll look it up when I get out during lunch.

Many places like this off Ox road, check out hampton rd or lorton drive
Or, drive 45 mins up to skyline. Can't beat that in this area.

I do need to hit Skyline drive this summer. Just drove down I-81 yesterday with the family and stared longingly at the Shenandoah's! Unfortunately I was driving the mini-van

I like GW parkway, right by the Reagan airport park..checking out the planes land and take off. I'd like to go check out Skyline road..I always keep hearing about this place.
Oh and yes...66 Eastbound, Mon-Fri...I bet for sure it's quite a fun ride. |

After all that driving and after you get back onto Rte 7 west, you could turn left into Woody's (sp) Driving Range and Mini-Golf and have a blast at the range! LOL!!

if you take 66 West to Haymarket - Take Route 15 West all the way down to Rt 28 and loop back around to 66 to go home.
28 is just a freeway type to get you back home but Rt 15 West is about 30-40 miles of exactly the type of road you're looking for - 2 lanes with trees all around (almost hit a deer 2 weeks ago, so word of warning if you're driving really late or early morning) |
