Battery registration

Came home from a week long vacation today to a dead battery . I'd like to replace it myself, but I don't have the tool required to register the new battery to my car.

A few questions:
1) Will I be able to drive the car after replacing the battery without registering it? (I'm assuming it just throws a code/light on the dash)

2) Does anyone have the tool required to register a new battery, and if so, would you be willing to help me register the replacement battery?

Thanks in advance

I think you can drive it but it will not charge the right way untill you get it coded to the car.
