So I assume something like: 1113 or 1114 as year tag?

I will also inspect the pins tomorrow as observed within this thread:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=737607

Exactly the same symptoms, besides the radio issue.

Ok, try 1114 as the date..

Also, did you say you see a MEDIA ECU??

Can you read the ECU?

Also, do you see the Combox in INPA??

I'm going to try 1114 in a minute.
Yes, media popped up after 6vc. But not Cmedia.

Can I read, I assume, a read command within NCS against the Media ECU?

I'm less informed within INPA, where should I look for the combox?

Ok, I might be a bit mistaken..
It could be MEDIA .. Read the ECU and post the trc here..

I can check if it the combox..

Open INPA -> select chassis -> Functional Jobs -> Status Lesen

This will give you the list of all modules detected ..

Combox (I am not sure what it will be called, TEL/MULF i think) should be listed there if it is in the MOST ring and powering up fine...

Implemented 1114-> No change observed
Tried to recode Media ecu within NCS -> Ecu is not responding, job ended
Pooked around within INPA: Run a diag against navigation.
Outcome: Requested control unit: NAVL60/V1.x, CCA60/V4.x,NAVMASK2.V0.x'not found -> Control unit found: 'CIC_HD'. Program will be stopped!

I have retrofitted a CIC into my car, it looks like INPA somehow still thinks that I might have a CCC? Could this cause issues? In NCS the CIC is correctly listed and responsive.

Same happens on my car too..
INPA still looks for CCC when a CIC is retrofitted...

It should not be an issue.

Can you send me a pic or a diagram how you wired the MOST fibres at the LWL?

It should be like in the attached pic

Hi Deep, you were completely right about MOST! (Should be mentioned ;-))

So it seems that the end point of my diagnostics flash point was not closed correctly (Dummy end connector instead of loop) (Human error).
Now the combox is picked up and USB and connected drive is working.

Two items are still not correct:

- BT is still not active...
- Car is now showing Ecall ECU and shows an error that Ecall is not functioning.

I have recoded the car, also the combox specific.

Some side information: When 633 is present, BMW ISID also identifies a TCU, after removing 633 all telephone stuff is gone. So I added 633 again.

How did you solve BT issue?
I had e92 for 6fl retrofit and guy had 633 rather 644 and I will try 634 first.

I removed 633 as I went to my mechanic at BMW (who helped me via ISID to see which ecu's would be active etc) he stated that ISID mentioned a TCU. Which is not the case. But it seems that when you have a combox-Telematic this includes the TCU ecu.

So the idea was to remove the 633, to be able to validate if that was giving the car a wrong idea about the setup. I recoded the complete car afterwards, then my telephone stuff was gone from the CIC. So not the proper way to go. After setting the 633 back and performed a recode of the complete car, it still did not work.
So I created a trc/man from the media ECU, changed some possible relevant parameters, that could be conflicting and coded it with this file. Afterwards I waited 15 minutes and then BT became active.

It also took quite some time get the pairing screen, at the point that the car cannot find a saved BT profile and propose to pair a new one. So not completely sure what did the trick, but I will post tomorrow some stuff. My FA and combox config.

A side effect of setting the car to #1114 and completely recoding the car, is that the config does not make any sence anymore (alarm is not working, lights do not go off when closing the car.
So tommorw I will set it back to #0909 and recode again. Hopefully it keeps working and returns my cars parameters to the appropriate values.

One last item is that my office menu only shows contacts and connected drive calendar. I expected also mail and text messages.
Any suggestion about that option? I use an Iphone 5 via the usb and now also via BT.

Special thanks to Deep! He is very knowledgeable but also very helpful. Highly appreciated!

Setting to 0909 will make you lose your combox..

You see, based on your MY date, the options are marked valid or invalid. Since comnox was only introduced after 0311 , any date before that will make option 6VC invalid..

You can however change the values in eth trc and make it work, but default VO coding wont.

644 should work and you should get your BT back..

Put 644 back and with 1114 as date recode CIC and Combox..

Remove your battery negative, (it resets the ECUs) and reconnect battery..
Hopefully, you should have everything working smoothly...

Combox telematics has a TCU, it is call ECALL..Remove PIN 2 power to deactivate it..

I'm going to do the recode based 0n 1114 and 644 instead of 633, I will also cut the power from pin 2.
In the meanwhile I tried to get a software update for BT from the BMW site, but this is vin based and my car is officially not equipped with BT. So no updates. Any clue how to deal with this?

Bit confused and lost.

My Combox is with telematics. So it has TCU. My plan is to install it at the front where the glove box is.

Few questions;
1- Should I be using 633 or 644?
2- One is business phone prep and one is ordinary if I am correct. what is the difference b/w these?
3- Why do one should disconnect telematics?
4- With 644, how does bluetooth work if telematics is off?

Sorry, trying to get my head around this.

On a good side note, I have coded my car last night for the CIC with SSD files. It is showing the BMW connected drive in the menu. Since controller is not connected, so could not check things in detail.

Thanks.

Yes, the vendor did.... I will check, although does it play a big role? Or maybe with the update process / BT ID?

I have some time later on... will perform then the actions...
