Hi to all,

Some month ago I Installed a brand new combox media in my car (E91 lci) with high cic. I updated the cic firmware to .c16 version to have full compatibility with cbx and to have app free without fcs.

It worked all fine except one thing. Sometimes randomly I have this error:

A8F9 : CBX-MEDIA: Software reset that is very annoying because the BT connection drops and cbx reboot.

In a first time I thought the problem could be caused by too high power consumption of phone (iphone 6) when connected to usb socket (an italian installer told me that iphone 6 has this kind of problems and that I could resolve it by installing the baseplate for the phone).

I made other test and found that the problem isn't strictly correlated to the phone plugged into the usb socket. Infact I made a modify USB cable that doesn't charge the phone but after sometime I had the same error and after some days I had the error also with the phone unplugged from the usb socket.

Now, after several days that I haven't anymore the error, I think that the cbx reset occurs sometime when the phone tethering is disabled and cbx is asking data to the phone. Is that possible?

There are so many parameters in its FSW_PSW and I don't know what I can try to change to solve the problem....

For Example what about

SWUP_CYCLIC_RST_THRESHOLD

or

SWUP_CYCLIC_RESET_TIMEOUT

or

SWUP_CYCLIC_MONITORING

This is my configuration. Could some one have a look and tell me something if there are any errors? Please help me because in Italy I a have a lot of difficulties to receive any help from who knows.

There's a lot of good information in this thread, however it's quite scattered. I'm wondering if you could distill all the coding down into one post for me (and everyone). There really isn't a good concise post on coding a combox retrofit into an e9x.

All of the posts seem to be about the hardware retrofit, followed by paying someone else to do the coding. I can do my own coding but need guidance on what to add and remove for the VO and any parameters.

I just did a non-idrive to cic retrofit. I bought the cic unit and combox off my friend who had both of these working fine on his car.

It's news to me that I have to code the combox to my car vin and add some new VO options. This is what I have done since the retrofit. (By retrofit I mean, added CIC/CID to existing MULF2/TCU set up, no combox wired yet)

Removed: #0309 CAS/NFRM
Added: #0909 CAS/NFRM
Added: $6VA CAS/NFRM
Added: $609 CAS/NFRM
Removed: $663 CAS/NFRM

For the record I've plugged the combox in, and had bluetooth support and all that for a brief moment. But since then i can't seem to get it to power on (I dont see a red light in the most connector and the most circuit is left open). Not sure if I screwed something up with the wiring or worse.

Secondly can anyone provide a pinout so I can confirm the mulf and tcu connections.

But bluetooth is still greyed here.
I added $6VA en $644 to the VO and coded the MCIC.
Media also appears which i coded also using the expert profile.

But I cant seem to find the combox in the list.
But I also dont know what ECU name the combox has in NCS expert?

Can anyone help me with the name?

Today i gave it a new try.
I added $6VC (in stead of $6VA) and $644 in the VO.
And coded MCIC and MEDIA with the expert profile.
Bluetooth phone and Bluetooth streaming working like a charm.
