Try this additive

I’ve been using every tank fillup it’s like d on steroids!!
Liqui moly diesel purge - 1 can is 500 ml, around $9 from Napa
Try it let me know if it makes a difference in your d or not
I’ve used it in the Bluetec and that started running like a bitch on fire also

Since it was a "purge" I used it when I was at 1/4 tank and ran it a little stronger than say a full tank as per the Lubro rep I spoke to. I definitely felt a power increase. I'm a bit wary of running it every tank though. Every other tank maybe. I'm going to give it a shot in a full tank next fill up

I tried Archoil 6400-d max a couple years back and seemed to work well. Going to give the "purge" filled fuel filter a shot this time around since I've been using their Top Tec oil for the last 4 changes and happy. Now have 133K on the X5.

NYC- I wouldn't use a cleaning concentrate every fill up. If you plan to add it to fuel in the tank just do it a week or two before you change out the fuel filter. That way you will be removing whatever sediment that breaks loose in the tank due to the cleaning instead of clogging up a fuel filter that you plan to use for a while longer. I've used opti-lube XPD for the last 3 years for normal fill-ups.

I've used that Diesel Purge before and its OK. If you want something even better try the Hot Shot Diesel injector cleaner. Works even better.

Liqui moly makes good products. I could only find one additive recommended by a manufacturer.

"After significant internal testing concluded that it helped with lubricity, cetane numbers, low temperature operability and injector deposits Cummins officially endorsed Diesel Kleen."

I bought a bottle and I have a road trip later this week. I will use it in the first tank and not use it in the second tank to see if there is a difference in fuel economy.
