335 calliper carrier...Help

Hi, does anyone have one of these that they would be willing to sell to me?
Am in the process of changing the discs & pads but found the top slider pin was just turning, I took the carrier back of to find the thread stripped.

If nobody has one I will look into having it re-threaded, anyone have any thoughts if this is doable?

As a Last resort I have ordered the last new one in the country through my local main dealer

Just helicoil it, you can buy a kit. Just order one that is the same size as the slider pin thread. Dead easy to do. You get the correct size drill bit in the kit to drill the hole out then a tap to rethread the hole, then a tool to wind the helicoil into the newly tapped hole.

Agree I would do the same. The carriers for 335d/i are rare as hell and I'm guessing the cost from BMW must be north of £100.

Have ordered a TRM9 x1.25mm sealey repair kit which should be delivered tomorrow.

I am in the dog house now as the missus can’t use the car for a few days, apparently I shouldn’t have started doing the brakes if I didn’t have the parts to put it all back together....women

She is right

On a side note you could have got it welded in. The slide pin does nothing when in place. As long as its clean and smooth it serves it's purpose.
