How to disable dome interior light but still allow puddle lights?

Is there a way to disable the dome interior light (by the rear view mirror) without turning off the puddle lights? When I press for 3 seconds, it shuts off but also disables the puddle lights (under door). I wonder if just removing the bulb will work.
