First, where does this red wire (next to the yellow male rca) attach to? How about the other end? Should the black be grounded in the back (someone mentioned a ground post on the fender)

In the second photo, there are two wires with pins. Should they attach to the emulator box at slot 21 (yellow) and 24 (black) as labeled?
The red wire is the power wire which i believe u know already. It should connect to another red on as far as ground i grounded mine on the trunk lid behind the cover, and I'm not sure about the pins only thing i had to repin was the fiber optics

Some people mentioned a white wire on the emulator but mine didn't have one. I suppose this is where people where connecting the red wire but I don't have one. Thoughts?

I know but In the instructions there should be a white wire coming from the emulator, there isn't.

Is there another wire to splice into in order to power the camera (12v) ?

Pretty sure it uses an accelerometer/gyroscope to determine orientation and direction based on vehicle motion. Do the lines move if you turn the wheel but don't move? I imagine if there's a tiny lag, that's how it works. There's no CAN integration so it can't be pulling from the car.

Are all the trunk handle cameras of similar quality? Mine has fairly limited dynamic range, as you'd expect from a cheap camera. Headlights will completely wash out the display and direct sunlight makes the picture harder to see as well.

i think i'm almost at the finish line. i don't have the white wire that the red wire connects to, apparently, my emulator did have it . is there another location i can tap into in order to get power? does it need to be a switch type (turns on when in reverse) or constant 12v?

I got myself a carsystems emulator to get dynamic lines from BimmerTech and will give my PnP harness away to anyone who wants it. Free if picked up, $10 shipped. Annoying thing about it is that it only powers the camera when the car is NOT in reverse. Pinouts look ok, and maybe it's fixable. Connector is the same as every other chinese emulator so you could replace it and just use the harness. You'll still need to code your car to enable the camera, as this just emulates the hardware and provides an RCA input for the reverse cam.

I thought this reverse camera would of came with the smaller rca connection to pass through the trunks rubber boot easier (as in the sellers pic below) However it's normal power and RCA connectors.

So you were able to pass it though ok i take it?

String, electrical tape, and silicone spray. I pulled my yellow rca through with little to no effort at all.

Cheers mate. I've done reverse cam installs before. Just wanted to make sure

Edit: I quickly checked out my trunk/boot flex tube to pass the wire through. Unfortunately it must be different for e92, their is no way you can get an normal RCA plug through it's already tight as.
thinking about cutting plug off and rejoining it.

The recommended camera by the OP has a small connector that addresses that. Cutting off a regular RCA cable and reconnecting should be easy as well.

finished up my install. Had no issues apart from i had to cut the RCA cable to get it through the boot flex tube but it was pretty straight forward to fix it up with some soldering skills

I ended up not using that huge bulky plug and play harness, beats me how you would fit that thing behind the deck. I ended up cutting off the emulator and spliced it in for a much cleaner install plus i'd rather use the oem plug

Did anyone get the pnp harness working? Where do you tap for power without the white wire?
