Anybody getting limps/cel tracking (circuit) with JB2 / vishnu V2 or V3 ??
I am wondering if any of you members who you track your car @ the circuit NOT 1/4
have encountered any LIMPS other than oil temp too high when using JB2 or vishnu V2/V3?? I know majority of the e9x members who have this piggyback do not track their car at the circuit but usually just 1/4, so holding boost for a long amount of time under high heat would not be an issue for them... Any issues for you guys? Reason I am asking is im debating whether to go Dinan Stg2 or JB3. The JB3 is looking very impressive but I wouldn't want to be limping every session

Most "limps" on track happen due to overheating, and not due to tuning.
Maybe in cold weather in Canada, this might be less of an issue.

most tunes usually involve an increase in boost, which means an increase in heat.
If you are thinking about heavy track use I think you should consider staying stock, or going 'whole hog' with aftermarket cooling parts |

Definitely go the 'whole hog with aftermaket cooling parts' as Nick said before tuning. I'm stock and overheat every session. Go with an oil cooler and intercooler before putting a tune in.

Procede here - tons of limp issues in the beginning. They are sorted out now. Can do multiple 30 minute sessions in 90+ heat without limp. Damn 290 oil temps, though! Tried running bypass plugs and got the same temps.
Don't think Dinan is your answer: http://onelapforlife.blogspot.com/20...h-1-and-2.html The 335i that ran OneLap with Dinan software got tons of limps. |

I know of members who have tracked their car with the flash with no software-caused limp issues. Oh, I think I remember why you faulted the software, because it did not alter some OEM parameter/setting that triggered limps on its own.

Procede isn't the end-all-be-all. I banged my head on the wall for a very very long time on track. Your devoted worship of all things Dinan makes your opinion very suspect. That said, on my 335i the coolant won't cause limp - just reduced power. No lights, just no boost either, lol. |
