You're right, not a great fit. For what it is worth, last October they turned down my 2000 323it. It had sport and xenons and manual tranny. All maintenance was up to date, so no leaks and no CEL's and no sagging headliner, etc., and I over maintain my cars. But it had 251k miles on it and they were not interested. If it is high mileage but not an old Toyota SUV, they won't touch it. You should guess by now I am still salty about it! Sold it to my brother instead, and he loves it.

1. Because it appears to be clean and unmolested.
2. Because clean, unmolested e91s that are for sale are becoming more uncommon (spare me the "unicorn debate"). 3. Because not everyone lives in Nevada and wants a RWD car. -Michael |

It's odd they'd utilize bandwidth on a car that can be easily found in any decent sized city's craigslist. Quote:

I don't know if people are interested in non-91 cars, but I've noticed a couple of 5-Series wagons on the street this week.
Here are two for sale: https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/...792560728.html https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/...783603980.html -Michael |

How about a 2012 e91 to make up the error caught by ubersteuer
Ok, here you go-
https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/...790056029.html No nav, so it should score better on the ubersteuer-index. -Michael |

Yeah- ok. Fine. But if the rule were to post ads only for manual cars for sale, this thread would consist of one post per month. Max...
But here is a photo of a 6mt car, if that is any better... -Michael Last edited by ihbase; 01-19-2019 at 12:30 AM.. Reason: add photo as an attachment |

All jokes aside I totally agree with you. Although most people look for rare spec e91s a lot of these could be good starting points for projects, although they are too nice for that in my opinion.

But once I finished making the car correct, it feels like it is too nice to daily. So I have now defeated the entire purpose of the project because that car sits in the garage with a cover on it while I continue to use a hoopty old pickup as my daily. I don't really get the "rare spec" thing. Sometimes it seems like people kinda loose perspective. I understand that RWD e91 cars are less common. But the e91 is an awesome car for ski trips - so x cars are more valuable to me than RWD cars. Other than in the context of trying to limit my depreciation costs, I really don't care what anything is worth to someone else. -Michael |
