400whp on stock turbos is relatively easy. Im at 442whp and my tune is actually turned down a little bit since my HPFP couldnt hold up. At our last dyno day almost every car dyno'd at 380whp or higher on stock turbos and most werent even FBO or running custom tunes.

man, sorry for the late reply, missed your post. I'm still on stage 1 as i still have a bit of maintenance to do. once those are all complete, gonna go custom tune.

Another one for you guys. Ran on a Dynostar 4x4 bench (blue)

BMW E91 335i N54 2008
211k km/130k miles on the clock
FTP motorsport DCI
Downpipes
Ebay intercooler (MTC Motorsport UK)
5992 plugs gapped to 0.5mm
Fresh injectors + coils
102RON Racing fuel

Green = MHD v7 Stage 2+ 98oct/102ron = 404 crank calculated HP
Red + Blue = MHD V8 Beta Stage2+ 98roct/102ron = 408 crank calculated HP

A bit of a wobble in the graphs. Probably because of timing pulls (IAT too high)
MHD V8 map also has a bug in the low RPM's. You can see the torque drop hard for a moment @ 2200rpm. The v7 run didn't have this issue so much.
Exhaust temp, AFR and some basic stuff all looked good on the v8 map according to them (some Dutch tuning company) although the performance seemed to be a bit more conssistent on v7 to me.

Not too shabby. I'll leave it at that. I will probably go back to 91oct/95ron fuel and mapping for daily use.
The torque is insane. I like it

Something is wrong with your car is you are running 98 Octane and all you did was 400 crank HP. I am doing 370WHP on 91 without the backend flash. I now have methanol and and the backendflash and it does 420WHP and 480 wheel torque.

My measurements are European horsepower. US horsepower is usually overrated. I also don't have methanol.

My 410hp would translate to about 360whp which is pretty spot on with what MHD reports that you can expect on Stage2+ OTS maps.
The fact that it's 10 to 20HP off is not suprising to me since the car has over 130k miles on it.

Can anyone tell me what would be the best way to get to 360-380 WHP without adding downpipes? I'm getting my car walnut blasted next week and then I'll take the MHD route.

Already have Dinan Exhaust and DCI intakes.

Walk into your local performance shop and ask the guy behind the counter to give you the two biggest NOS bottles they got.

Curious what folks are doing in California for power (limited to 91oct at the pump, although E85 is somewhat readily available near me [San Jose])

My car is pretty conservatively modified rn, with little power train work.

(Handling)
Wavetrac LSD
Ohlin road and track coils

(Performance/longevity)
ER fmic
ER competition oil coolers
Stock bolt-ons with Cobb stage 2 sport map (91 oct map, I think 11.5PSI)

I'd guess with this setup the car makes ~295whp

Next week I plan to install:
BMS DCI (not doing inlets until I need new turbos)
VRSF ***less DPs (fuck sm0g)
ER Charge pipe w/ Tial BOV (for da woooosh factor)

With these bolts I can step up to Stage 2+ Cobb OTS map (up to 16.5 psi from around 11.5)

I expect with these mods to put down 355-360whp.

I think I will be very limited there, and should hope that's enough to keep me satisfied. I guess the only real possibility after that would be new turbos/inlets, or meth, or E85.

Any thoughts? Can Californians benefit from more specialized tunes with 91 octane gas? Is meth a good way to get around the limited 91 octane at the pump?

Always like outside opinions/feedback. Also, I had my intake ports cleaned ~500 miles ago, and they were disgusting. They look new now!

((Car is 2008 E92 N54 6MT))

Thanks!

Shit. Just realized this is a dino thread. Sorry... to keep it on topic, maybe offer your thoughts on how the car would perform on a dyno with current mods and after the ones I mentioned above.

Pretty good.
The only thing thing is you might be still getting a little adaption from the drop down to pump gas from the first run on the Emap (which appears to have been 1 day prior) but it's better to do it that way that the other from a results standpoint.
So hp might actually have been a little higher (on your pump gas) after you got some DME timing adjustments.

I just ordered a 7" FMIC, DP's, dci, and CP. I have a fresh walnut blast, new plugs and coils. I plan on using MHD Stage2 93oct flash. Am I correct to assume with a healthy car I should be doing about 360 to the wheel? I'll post befor and after dyno pics. Just want to make sure I'm going in with the right expectations

should be closer to 380 as long as you dont have some crap for 93.

The first Dyno was done like August of last year and the second one was done yesterday. I'm wondering if elevation has anything to do with it since it was done at 5k above.

I got 367 on 91 and no walnut blast and original coils, Dyno like 4 posts above. I'm sure you'll do way better.
