If the scum is not lying, this is what happen: Scum: Yo you want this muffler? Is garbage now B7 owner: Nahhh I dont need more garage. Scum: Ok dude, i'll get rid of it for you... whisper* for $1500 mwahawhah jackpot!!111oneone |

He said during un-installation the owner of the car said he did not want them saying "I have no use for them". Read the thread correctly. I think the only way to buy with confidence is to call the owner of the car, and ask yourself prior to buying this item. /Thread |

If you have these parts as a result of the scenario in the above post then I have no problem with you selling them. I just don't understand why if this was the case, why wouldn't you clearly state this in the first post, or the response to my post? Further, why would you even share the story of how you acquired these with the forum? Still, even further, why are you selling these parts on an e92/e90 forum?

This post has a subforum specially for private sales, so idk whats the point of saying that I only posted 16 times and they're all for sale.... so?
I am done explaining myself. I know how I got the mufflers and I stand by it. Not to cover my ass or finish accusations from any member on this post. I got them after the customer said he doesnt need them. I am sorry in advance for the confussion with my description of the product or my comments regarding this item. I am not ''scum, a thief, or garbage'' and I am not ''taking advantage of any customer.'' If anyone could prove anything they're saying then please do so, but for now, enough with the false accusations and offensive comments. I did not STEAL this from the customer, but took it after he left them at the shop and said he doesnt need them (just to make things more clear). I am new to this post and I do not need to be seen as something I am not. Anyone that believes me is free to do so, if not, Thank you. |

Btw show me where a 1 VIN has sold for $100... it's usually $130-160ish. 2 VIN being 170-220, 3 vin about 230-250. I didn't even want to sell the cable as I could still use the vin on my M3, but I wanted to get a professional one (or a new 3vin one) so I could also use it on my current Z4 and our next z4. But BT told me they can reset it to have 3 vins again win for me. anyways... why is everyone being a Saint on here? It's not illegal. If you leave something at a shop and tell them you don't want it, they are free to do what they want. (throw it away, sell it, have sex with it, pee on it, cut it on, poop on it, you get the idea) Hell, if the OP wanted to (if he's the owner of the shop), he could charge the owner a storage fee if the customer came back. I know of a couple muffler shops that will store your stock stuff for free for a couple of days, but after that they charge a storage fee. The shouldn't be responsible for storing it if the customer forgot it, doesn't want it, too lazy to come pick it up

I agree that if the owner of the car stated, I do not want this, you can do whatever you please.
Now if he just left it, Im not sure if that would hold up for the shop owner to sell something that is not his for a profit. |

Remind me never to take my car to any shop you own or buy any used parts off you!

If you tell someone you do NOT want something, how can you expect them to hold it for you, just in case, maybe, somehow, some day, you may decide you want it again? If you request them to hold it until you can pick it up later, or something along those lines, then yes of course they should hold it for you. But if you specifically point out that you do not want it, why do you expect them to hold on to it? I don't own a shop anyways, there isn't enough profit in having an automotive shop around here. There's easily over 100 within 10 miles of my office. Sorry, but my iTrader proves plenty of people like to buy used (sometimes new) stuff from me without issue Give or take a bunch of my iTrader is me actually buying rather than selling so that's a completely different scenario , but you get the point, Quote:
EXACTLY. IF he mentions he doesn't want it... then he doesn't want it... I don't care about the OP or him selling the mufflers.... it's common sense when you say you don't want something to expect to not see it again (either trashed, used by someone else, sold, whatever)

I'm almost positive I've done business with you before. Take it easy on the coffee. I just thought your schpeel about what you could do to parts was funny.

There are at least 18 BMW dealerships in New Jersey...what do you say we call them and ask if they have sold an Alpina B7 that the new owner wanted a quieter exhaust? Then we can ask the service manager what the deal is.

People on this forum are so quick to bash on each other. Do you guys have any idea how many people leave their stock exhaust at the muffler shop when they upgrade. Especially high end vehicle owners. I left both of my M3 mufflers at the muffler shop for scrap when I upgraded and I dam should have left that big ass 335 exhaust.
