My favorite boat is an O.P.B. "Other People's Boats"
Lol I have a few friends that love that idea also. Unfortunately my husbands love of boats goes way back... Way before me... Lol... A way worse money pit... And unfortunately seasonal depending on where you live...

Two happiest days in a boat owner's life: the day he buys it and the day he sells it.

Dad had a boat (23' I/O) we kept at a marina in Weymouth, MA. We used to run it in and out of Boston Harbor or down to Plymouth and back. It was great the first few years, but it cost about $2500 a season for the dock and insurance. The last year he owned it we used it 10 times between us. He said, "That's it. $250 for a trip into the Hah-bah and back is too much." He sold it the following spring.

I don't miss the boat. I do miss Dad, though.

I'm always tempted to do this... Maybe the next time.

We like the water but wouldn't use a boat enough to justify it. So we bought stand up paddle boards and going out on those a few times a year typically feeds that fix.

I hear ya. I doubt i'll miss the slot car track in the coming years, but i'm sure i'll miss listening to my dad's excuse for losing because his lane doesn't have the same voltage mine does, or his tires weren't clean, etc...

See we use it a lot. Basically like my floating summer house. Every weekend. Out, somewhere, overnights, we take trips and go away for 7 days, beach communities and exploring. My kids love it, my dogs love it, friends, they all have boats too and on our quiet days we just tie up, play some music and BBQ

My dad still has his 19' Bayliner, but I quit using it because it seemed I was the only one who ever did any cleaning or maintenance. Changing the oil on I/O is a royal PITA!!! Now it sits in pops' driveway and gathers leaves.

My boat experience as a little kid was not too positive.

My dad owned a fairly decent size boat, and it is PITA to maintain, clean , haul. My pure guess is about 18-22'? I know it can easily fit 15 people.

I think our entire family went to ride on a boat (fishing combo) at least twice a mo for 2 years. It gets windy. It gets real hot, and real cold fast. We also went through the seaweed area. It was scary.

Best memories was we caught a huge crab. On the same year, we caught so many mackerels.

Worst memory was, my dad decide to take us to Catalina Island on a boat. Although it was clear sunny day, it was one of the scariest boating moment.

Thanks mate,

Lots of carbon fibre goodies on it now.

That's really all I wanted to do, goes quick enough, handles pretty well so cant see the point in spending too much more, other than new tyres
