this was one of the first things I wanted to do to my e90 and it quickly became one of the last mods I'll do, probably even behind titanium lug nuts lol.

Missing parts

I hope this is what you all have been looking for. Now I just need to figure out how to connect them to the other factory wires! Jeff

Now, if you’ve been following this thread since the beginning or read it all and are amongths those assholes like me who want to do this install as cleanly and as OEM as humanly possible, I have finally tracked down the BMW Part Number for the pin connector that plugs into the Rear Plug wiring. It was mentioned earlier in the thread but we were only able to produce the AMP Part#

Black 2-Pin terminal connector [Female] - 61 13 1 378 106
Circular Pin Contact [Male] (2.5) - 61 13 1 376 191 (x2)
Black Plug Connection Bracket - 61 13 1 378 908
Fiberglass Mat Wrap - 61 13 6 920 760

It’s a plug from e46 Harmon Kardon sound application and other various model application that fits and works perfectly for the rear cigarette male connector. Unfortunately the plug is NLA from BMW and there are no schematics that I plowed through, NA or Euro-Spec, on RealOEM that had the rear cigarette lighter plug panel with the wiring alongside to get the exact e90 part number but I trust this should suffice granted you can manage to track one down. There is also a small plastic support that will clip the plugs inside the center console just like the white connector for the armrests wiring but I have provided the part for the black plastic bracket to keep everything looking 100% OEM

I haven’t done the install yet as I just got my panel in today from Turner but since I am also a late model that lacks the front cigarette wiring as well, I’m going to be tackling both projects at the same time. Listed below are the part numbers for the front cigarette wiring plug/lights

White 3-Pin Terminal Plug [Female] - 61 13 1 378 113
Circular Pin Contact [Male] (2.5) - 61 13 1 376 191 (x3)

The actual 16g/12g wiring will be my own Brown/Red source because BMW decided to be cheeky and not have part #s for that so Home Depot it is

Cheers men,
And best of luck

Funny how as our E9x cars go down in value all the retrofit parts and used-parted parts goes up in value!

This looks like something I will do this weekend. Can I reuse the vent from my LCI into a happy robot trim from out a preLCI sedan?

Since I traded the ashtray for the sunglass tray I connected my power outlets to the vacant ash tray power connections in the front of the center console. My connection did not require the quick connectors or tapping into the center console power adapter or cutting any wires. I used some Radio Shack connectors (see Pics) and 16 guage wire to connect to the plug that comes with the cover part (the one with the outlets), ran the wires to the front (under the console compartment and around the gear shift) and connected to the ashtray power plug. The Radio Shack connector shown did not work with the ashtray plug so I just put the female metal connectors on the ends of the wires, wrapped them in electrical tape, and plugged into the ashtray power without the plastic connector plug (3 pins Left Brown, Center Red, Right unused - sorry I didn't snap pictures of this).

The other thing I did different was order the Storage Partition part that is installed in place of the rear ashtray. As you can see from the pictures it does not result in the cute robot face but I feel like it is a little more useful since it provides a compartment to put cables or a phone. This option requires two parts:

Storage partition (Part# 51 16 7 154 481) List $20.25
Foam Tray Insert (Part# 51 16 7 156 472) List $8.32

Question

I am having a difficult time fitting this on my 2011 335i xDrive LCI Sedan.

Is there any tricks for LCI xDrives (I know xDrive cars have a slightly different floor shape (hence why xDrive cars need a different floor mat)

Could that be it?

I used Colorbond LVP 258 BMW Black.

Only prep I needed was sanding the trim and cleaning with rubbing alcohol on a terry (fuzz free) cloth.

No Primer or Clear Coat layers were needed to get a durable great looking result!

You can also use Colorbond to restore or re-color leather seats, pleather seats, dirty carpet and any vinyl/plastic trim in your BMW.

Do they have separate part numbers? Is there an iX specific part?

There's a number on it but I already put it back together. Anyone know what it might be?
It is one the many Comfort Access antennas hidden around your car which has Comfort Access. It sits right behind the happy robot mouth.

Where do the cars in Germany put this moduel or do they even have it??

Any input appreciated.
One of the many Comfort Access antennas hidden in and around cars with that feature.

I got it to fit in the end. I just had to bang it in and let the big bottom clips lock in place

All these parts for the wire harness are now suddenly available right this minute from ECSTuning and a few other webstores but the BMW dealerships were telling me it either no longer exists or have to be ordered from Germany. Strange.

Prices are good but I'm not sure I would pay $8 for cloth wrapping tape

I have a 2011 and no front ashtray but when I replaced my console CIC trim it did looked like there was some sort of ground/power (brown/red) pre wiring tucked away under where the ashtray would be.

Are we confirmed that part 51167150155 will fit LCI 335 xDrive models? I would love to do this and give the kids access to usb power on long trips.

For those that are trying this mod in 2021 and going with the "as OEM as possible" approach:

There is an empty slot on the opposite side to fit the black holding plastic piece, but PN 61 13 1 378 908 did not fit for me. I pulled the white piece that is already on the car (what the OP taps into) and the plastic bit that hooks into the side is noticeably taller on the original white one than the black. I've ordered the white one (PN 61 13 1 378 997) now to try to finish the install (all available on FCP euro or ECS).

You will still need to tap into the center console wires so 2 new wires are needed, but you can at least reuse the plug (no cutting of existing wires).

Thanks for this guide in 2022!

I used OEM parts to make a mini harness and appears to work well.
Originally, I had planned to repin the brown/green connector but I could not find an easy way to do it, and Amazon pin removal tools are bunk and did not work.

So, the bottom white connector hooks up to the brown/green connector with clips coming from the fuse box?? Or idk it comes from somewhere

Then it medusas into 2

Top left goes to your new happy robot with the dual cig lighters.
The top right goes to the cig lighter in your center console.

Here is a photo of the solution

Parts used

Male pins: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...mm-61131376193

16awg wire is available at any home Depot/ hardware store, but for some reason I ordered 14awg online which ended up being too thick but oh well..

If you're recreating this, some advice:

I used 14awg wire but it was too thick to crimp properly, if was doing it again I would do it with 16 or 18 awg.

Order extra pins if you're a dumbass like me ( they are cheap )

Pay attention to pinout of the 2-cig happy robot piece as the pinout is the reverse of the connection to the car (brown-gnd and yellowgreen-vbat in my car)

Finding space for this is a challenge due to length of the happyrobot cables in here so you may want to buy an extra black/female pins for the new dual port cigarette lighter in order to shorten it's cables which are very long.

Maybe pack it with dielectric grease if you don't trust exposed copper.

Can confirm above

I usually chime back in after my installs to give a report of how it all fit together but yes, the above post is correct that 61131378908 does not fit correctly. It holds the black plugs/cigarette wiring fine but it is too shallow to twist into the center console mounting point. I had to shave down the edges to get the locking block to fit and twist snuggly. It looks OEM enough but obviously is not the correct part number. One day I may try to track down the true part number but for now my solution was adequate. Apologies for everyone I've inadvertently mislead

Also do not order the above mentioned part number for the wiring tape, it is like Velcro and super thick; it does not match the fuzzy electrical wiring tape BMW used for our harnesses. Just Amazon "BMW Tesa Tape" it's a close enough match and runs $15 for 75m. That's probably enough to rewrap every harness in the car maybe at least once

2023 version - retrofit USB C ports like on current models:

Part number should be 84108711938. Would be a lot easier if you got the harness with it to tap into your existing 12v wiring:

It appears to charge up to 12w:
