Permanently turn off dome lights

Is it possible to not have dome lights turn on when i open the door, or unlock the car? I know that on other cars they have a little toggle switch that says "OFF - DOOR - ON". Does the 335i have something similar?

My 335i only seems to have a "ON - OFF" switch, that will also toggle the back seat dome light as well. Maybe theres some settings in idrive that i'm overlooking.

or you can just take off the bulb on your dome. it'll be off permanently.

Oh okay.. no i sometimes need to manually turn it on to find something in the car.

you CAN turn off the dome lights permanently. All you have to do is get in the car (dome light will turn on), hold the button to turn them off for 5 seconds, and it'll default to stay off when you unlock or open the door.

do u turn it back on the same way?

Just turn them on and they'll be back on. You only need to hold the light when you turn it off.

you can take out the center dome light bulbs, leaving the little circle ones in. That way the lights wont come on when you hit unlock or open the doors, but you'll still have lights you can turn on when you need to look for something
