cheap car insurance for modded car

Hi guys, Im due for car insurance renewal next month. Im trying to find a good deal. My problem is that my car has modifications. Retrofitted CIC and a boot lip.
With these mods mentioned when getting a quote, Im being charged extra £300 annualy. Any advice on where to try to get a good deal?
Tried the most known like:compare the market, confused.com, gocompare...

PS: I still have my gap insurance for the next year

Thanks

I use sky insurance it's a broker but I find they are good with mods. Obviously depends where you live but I find them ok, used them for two years now which is not normal, generally someone is cheaper

Been with sky insurance brokers for 6 years

No one can touch them on prices for me, mrs or my dads e350

Comparison sites come up 2-3 times the price

They were cheapest for my modified M5 rep F10. Easiest way was, what is the total value of your car with the mods and he found a very good price to cover it.

I would not bother to mention CIC though. As when you run parker's price evaluation, it gives you option to choose whether you had CIC or not and based on that it increases the price for your car.

I went with direct line when i renewed last month. They covered my bootlip spoiler for no extra charge.

Given the sat nav is a factory optional extra, i cant see companies having an issue with it, but its all about the wording. Saying things like "retrofitted" or "modified" doesnt sound good and will make many of them run a mile. I've changed the stereo in every car i've owned before the BMW, and never mentioned it to the insurance company.

I've had no issues with admiral.
Had loads of mods on my E36 and only got charged an admin fee for adding them to the policy

If you find Adrian Flux to be competitive, go on to PH and email Jordan in the stickies. He could get you a 15% discount.

I found my regular broker, Sky and Adrian Flux to be utterly abysmal. Hundreds more than what I could find in seconds on a price comparison website. And that's their job...

I was hoping to disagree with you and similars to you, but unfortunately I have to agree.
I might have to stick to my current policy provider and just take off legal expenses, breakdown cover, NCB protection...
The NCB protection is one big con anyway!!

Adrian flux just got my business as they were best for me by miles! I guess all the factors count towards if they can be competitive or not.

Do Adrian Flux retain details do you know? I would try them again this year but I don't really want to waste 30 mins and end up with a shocking quote at the end. If it's click a few buttons, here's a price I'll give it a whirl.

I called my current insurers for the third time today to actually take their second offer of £100 off my renewal price. And somehow I got offered a £220 cheaper renewal with no changes to my policy. So thats me happy again

You have to call them. I'm sure they keep details for at least 2-3 years.

I'm with Admiral for the GTR (with 25% power mods), X5 and 6 all full comp around £900. 6k mileage on each. No vol excesses. NCB mirrored. The initial renewal quote was £1600 and i just went through it over the phone and got it reduced.

Garage List
I was with Adrian Flux on my VWs were great until I had to make a claim and they were a nightmare got rid of them as soon as I could and found after that even with 'Forum' Discount they were no cheaper than others. This was over 5yrs ago so I hope they have got their act together but I will never go near them again.
