330Xi Oil Pan Gasket

My Oil Pan Gasket has been leaking for a number of years. My BMW independent has estimated $2400 for replacement. Now I like my guy - but I'm not sure that I want to spend $2400 on a 16 year old car -- especially when the fix is non-urgent.

Any ideas or suggestions for a cheaper alternative? (Doing it myself is not an option). I am located in the Boston area.

I should add that new motor mounts are included in the above estimate -- which makes sense to me as the incremental labor is small.

My dealer quoted me $2000, after haggling the best I got was $1400 plus taxes. But again mines a 325I not XI

The XI oil pan gasket looks like it really sucks to replace. You have to drop the differential, pull the axle, and then do all the regular stuff non AWD cars have to do. I think that quote is within the realm of reasonable if the engine mounts are included. Literally the reason I walked on a real good deal XI a bit ago.
