Getting my 335xi track ready
Hey guys I have a 2007 bmw 335xi it's vrsf stage 2+. Wheels I have on it are vmr 19' 8.5' front and 9.5' rear and I'm running x delete. Just want to get some feedback on what I should do. should I sell the wheels I have now and get another setup? Also are coil overs going to make south a big difference? And what should I do about breaks/rotors/ calipers/ fluid. Any recommendations are great looking to get some seat time and do some track days!

There are numerous track pads, from cheap like PowerStop or StopTech to so middle of the road EBC or Hawk to real good and expensive ones like PFC or Pagid RSL. Don't run drilled rotors. At most slotted. Plain will do fine. Engine cooling is your biggest issue on N54. Do you have radiator type cooler? If so did you put bigger than original? Run oil like Castrol Edge 0W40, Motul X-Cess 5W40 GEN2. You can go track specific oils like Motul Sport 5W40, Redline 5W40. In N54 I would personally avoid Mobil1 0W40 as it has ridiculous amounts of SAPS and it is not best for engines that have CBU issues. Run diluted coolant. At most 20% coolant rest distilled water. Or even better 10/90%. That will improve heat exchange. |

I wouldn't worry too much on brake pads if its your first track day. Just use some good brake fluid like ate typ 200 mentioned above. The more serious stuff will require changing more frequently as they absorb water faster.
Don't turn all your boost and power up, you will want cooling upgrades. Address all the maintenance first before or it will come back and bite you in the middle of a session. Get some decent tires, atleast a good summer tire.
