Hi All, hope you are well.

I would like some advice and input on what brake pads you are currently using on your cars. When I bought the car it had apec pads they were changed when worn down.

I stuck some pagids on it at the time as I had used them on various other cars with good initial bite and stopping power. The current ones compound had cracked so I'm looking at other options. Currently thinking textar or brembo. Never experienced genuine pads on this car so not sure how they perform.

Any other recommendations are welcome ideally I'd prefer a good initial bite and good stopping power.

Running Textar with ATE discs atm.

Used Brembos on all previous cars. No issues with either setup tbh. Any higher end stock option seems to be a good bet IMO

Same as Jacob, I'm also running Textar pads and ATE discs. Working really well, discs took a while to bed in tho, but working very well. I think BMW used to use Textar pads. I've used them for years with no complaints.

Well that sounds reassuring then what's the pedal feel like with the textars? Good bite? Yes I have found a pair of textars just thought I'd get a few options before pulling the trigger on them.

Good bite with mine. Sometimes when I wear shoes with stiff soles as opposed to trainers I brake a bit sharply due to less feel of the pedal through the shoes. Certainly stops well.

I had Brembo Sport HP2000 on my old 35i with ATE discs, excellent pads & I would 100% recommend them. I had previously been using EBC RedStuff, they were also very good at stopping but the brembo front discs didn’t like them & developed brake judder.
Had no issues with the HP2000’s

That sounds good just what I'm looking for really don't like the way you to have to press the pedal further to get a good bite with some pads, I tried a set of trw cotec pads a while back just didn't like the way you had to press the pedal further to get the same results. Just had a look at those pads they certainly get good reviews but I think maybe a little to excessive for my needs just want a good everyday pad and for a hoon from time to time. I had a look at the ebc stuff but they seem to get negative press on various forums but others say they are good but I don't fancy being the one to try would rather get it right firstime around and stick with what most recommended. I see you have moved over to the g30 lovely looking motor you have, been following your thread on the 5er forums

Thanks, yeah the G31 is a bit special , although not as much ‘fun’ as the old 35i & there’s not much to do to it other than wash & polish it

Textar currently. Low dust my ass! Been great. No issues. My new front rotors warped, but pads did great when I switched new rotors onto them. They had a perfect glaze.

I got ATE discs and BMW pads (got cheap off eBay)

Best I’ve had for a road car. Better than pagid dics and pads.

Others have warped/ pulsed where as this combo hasn’t
