Once the new car smell is gone, the tires are worn and the brake sensors are tripped, it’s time to move on. Hell, a recent iPhone won’t charge because it’s a USB3 cable and it’s clearly obsolete.

I remember a few years ago someone in the office said YO you got a USB-C cable I can borrow? I said what's that? These youngins with their bleeding edge technology! No clue what that even was, I can barely deal with micro USB being so small. I say Austin do you know what a CD is? He goes of course I do, I have never used one but my parents have a collection (OUCH! and career limiting as I collect Dave's Picks some of which cost $28 and go on eBay for $130)

Now everything including laptops is USB-C.....though I am amazed it handles everything from video to audio to charging, it's actually a good standard imho

USB C is the move for Android. So so much more convenient (and better looking) than any other usb style. Aside from Apple's lightning cable that is

None of which I want nor need in my next car.

I'll take a manual transmission please...

Those things are basically standard or will be standard on new cars, and the manual is just about dead in the USA.

Hence the reason why my E90 has 385,000 and still daily drive it 3 days a week; and why I just bought a 2005 100,000- mile E46 330ciC a few months ago...

I've had a lot of seat time in a few different E21's back when they were new. Trust me, while they are great drivers, they are very slow (below average for their time too). They are typical of BMWs of that era, which is they were not fast accelerating, but were great at high speed. Low-mile pristine condition versions are going for ridiculous money on BAT.

I think the e9x cars have aged really well. I specifically wanted a pre-lci e91 with no nav or Idrive though. I feel like nav units really date a car, small screen e38 and e39's for example. My wagon has hids, heated seats, a decent radio, and with my phone mount I have nav though my Iphone. Compared to my vintage BMWs the e91 feels like a brand new car.

As long as it looks good and do little updates, it is timeless. Most people have no idea how old they are. I have a 2010 LCI e90. Someone just asked me if it was brand new.

Back in 2016 I did a custom order on a F30 with M Bumpers, lip kits and all. In June I went back to an LCI 335xi and am loving the car so much more. These cars are the last of an era and I plan to enjoy it for some time!
