Coding for DSC module replacement
Hello, I was hoping someone might be able to help me out. I need to install a new DSC module. My current module is indicating fault codes that point to the DCS module's RAM failing. I have a new module in hand (just the electronic side of it). Before installing, I need to make sure that I can get it coded (registered?) to my car. I spoke to an independent BMW repair shop and they quoted me $200 for registering the part and said it would take 12 hours.
I guess what I'm asking is does this this seem right? I think there are some local coders in Seattle, but one I've spoke with doesn't know exactly how to register the DSC module to my ride. Would it be better for me to just learn to code myself instead of going through all this or should I just take the car to the dealership and get raped for a simple code? Any help is appreciated.. Coding DSC is not as simple as it looks.
You will need to bleed abs pump and reset few sensors after registering new module. Get an experienced coder on the board to do mobile coding or take it to the dealer.
