Why would you need to do this? Just erase mileage and odometer of the replacement cluster.

Hi guys mainly Sensible_,
I need to RUN the tempomat (CC) - because of car is x84 X1 16sd 05/2014

the steps I do:
1. bought levers -> need coding
2. bought ICOM -> need KOMBI 9316152 (2014)
3. bought KOMBI 9110215 (2006) -> need my VIN
4. bought R270+ and flash 35080v6(!!! 3weeks R270 pounded into it and done) -> ISTA need VIN
5. NSC-Expert write VIN -> ISTA need new KOMBI 9316152 (2014)
6. WinKFP program/flash KOMBI to 9242371 (2013) -> ISTA need new KOMBI 9316152 (2014)

Sensible_ thank you for your post, yesterday i red, about WinKFP and KOMBI oldest -"retrospective changed"- ZBNR.

Yeasterday I flash the KOMBI to 9242371 ZBNR and then:
now when I push CC lever forward, KOMBI show me picture with "--- km/h", but this is all. Not working when go to test trip.
I stop work at 21:30. and not again connect the charger and coded whole car by ISTA because of is late (i think i Expert mode must take away the (R) Replace installed KOMBI).

In NSC-Expert was added to VO/FA $540 Cruise control.
I many times to try to ISTA adding the "$544 Retrofit CC with Braking function" but it stop BO not be coded because of "unfulfilled dependencies" with this "virgin" KOMBI. I think need some module to automatically brake tires (LMA or something sounds similiar).

Or can I use the NSC-Expert to coding whole car?
Who now how KOMBI was in the car installed? ISTA/P still looking for original KOMBI 9316127 without CC, This one still working when I connect, only when is in KOMBI set "TEMPOMAT_SETZ_AND_DAUERT" to aktiv show yellow warning tempomat and error "kombi doesnt can show the set speed".
Is it true i not to try code whole car (was late) and think when see the KOMBI react to CC lever it is all done. But not.

It seems to be the function now is deactivated, but "TEMPOMAT_SETZ_AND_DAUERT" is aktiv
or
the flashed (2013) KOMBI can show the reaction to CC lever but the function is still stopped

today try to code whole car and again start the function, btw. it is very strange that i set "TEMPOMAT_SETZ_AND_DAUERT" to aktiv and nothing happend at all, must coding whole car, it looks like the DDE from some Year have the interdict to use tempomat without showing on the KOMBI set speed.

Throw ISTA in the bin for this job.

If you installed correct SZL and KOMBI then simply the procedure would be:

1. Add 544 to CAS and FRM VO with NCSExpert
2. Code DSC and KOMBI to default with expert mode in NCSExpert
3. Reset Steering angle sensor with ISTA-D is easiest.

Please note:

540 is basic CC. And designed for cars with 4cyl engines.

544 is CC with braking and generally fitted to 6cyl cars.

541 is Active CC which has extra radar sensor to set distance from car in front.

I believe all can be retrofitted to any vehicle.

is it this one:
"This is from memory, you need to go into the profile editor in NCS and turn off trace file manipulation. Then "Process" the module with the 'SG_CODIEREN' job. "

Correct.

Normally you'll have a coding profile of 'Expertenmodus (werkstellung) or similar. But yes. Double check manipulation is off and only choose the module you wish to default code.

IT WORKS

I didnt have to coding to default any modules, just sit on the but, go to the trip to crossroad to turn aroud car before garrage, try the lever and I almost got into my pants. WORKS.
maybe did yesterday everything correct but not wait with key outside the nest.

I have a question... where is the EEPROM chip located? I took apart the cluster, I have the minipro along with the SOIC test clip on the way but I can’t seem to find where to connect the clip to... apologies if it’s a dumb question but I’m stuck. Thanks!

Purchased a replacement cluster for E84 with lower mileage in junkyard. A thought is to replace the donor cluster with a brand new eeprom chip from ebay. Hesitate to deal with purchase a R270 tool as only will be doing this one time.

Anyone know if the new chip will be clear (virgin with FF & 00) for VIN and mileage? If is clear, can I use WINKFP or Tool32 to code in my VIN so that NCSExpert will allow to write KOMBI file? The goal is to have an extra cluster with white led display without the tamper dot and correct odometer reading.

Any help you can provide be greatly appreciated.

I also swapped my 06 cluster for a lower milage 07 with Oil temp instead of MPG. Milage updated but want to remove tamper dot. Is this the right programmer to be able to FF the VIN so I can code my current one into the cluster? Can't change vin either in Tool32 or NCS and as a result there's a tamper dot and no service data. Thanks.

At the beginning sorry for my English, it is not my native lng.

I came here because of 931E error in Instrument Cluster. I read whole topic and I am almost sure what I schould do. But I want to be sure

Patient - E90 PreLci 2005 320i N46B20B Europe, instrument cluster donor E90 320i England (ZB 6965785)
I have written VIN to it and set milleage counter to 0. Until this moment everything was ok.
After few weeks I have coded oil temperature instead of fuel consumption indicator almost successfully - the 931E error has appear in memmory.

The instrument cluster is working perfectly (speed, rpm, oil temp, fuel), there is no sign about the error (car w/o iDrive) until you connect a diagnostic software.
This problem torments me.

Have you some advice to me? Try to recode newer sp-daten ?

Say my friend has an original cluster and I take it to my car for some basic coding and then we put it back in his car. If he has lower mileage than me, will it be changed somehow? Thanks.

You can't code it with mismatched VIN.

Nope. I have this error still.
I will flash kombi unit in next week using an original file.
My secod problem is that I cannot force the Kombi to show the rest of menu.
Donor car had an Idrive so there is no additional options in Instrument Cluster.
I set the Instrument Cluster to series by NCS expert but nothing changed in menus.


Any idea what do with it ?

I got rid of the 931 error by flashing kombii again with my originally modified file (odo, vin)
Now I can't force my car to turn on $544 cruise control function
I have replaced my Kombi to HI version, DSC pump is from LCI version, SZL is also correct.
I added $544 to VO, coded whole car to factory setup. THe function still does not working.

There are no errors on the car. Everthing coded correctly.
Maybe the problem is that the car has r4 engine instead r6?
Did someone retrofitted that to r4 car before?
Any ideas why?

Beware that the TL866II could not erase the two two lines in my m35080-v6 chip to set mileage back.

I'm going to need another way to avoid the donor instrument cluster from writing higher mileage in my car.
