328i PE Muffler vs Rogue Ikon Muffler?
Hello everyone,
I'm newly registered to this forum but have been relying on it for awhile unregistered lol.. So hey there! I am debating on buying a different muffler for my car but I don't know which sounds better. The PE Muffler or the Ikon? If anyone has heard both of them, I would like your opinions/thoughts. Thanks! |

The PE exhaust will only be available used; you really can't find them brand new anywhere.
I wanted the PE exhaust, but after not being able to find one I settled on the Active Autowerke gen 2 axle-back. It has a resonance chamber, which results in a nice subtle tone without any drone.

Welcome to the forum!
If the opportunity and cost is not an issue, PE should be your first choice. There are several videos online for both PE and Ikon for E90. But I’ll give you my take on it. Surprisingly, both do not sound loud in person compare to say Mustang GT350 or E90 with muffler delete. Most videos will only show cold start and they sound louder and great but once warmed up not that loud. Definitely better than stock and do sound great but not as loud as what I had imagined. I think the PE (designed and comes with res delete) sounds best on E90. Ikon is definitely more cost effective but is cat back only. And sounds less refined compared to PE. You will need to play with res delete, second cat delete, etc. It all comes down to what you want: Loud exhaust: Muffler delete. Refined and OEM: PE Ikon: Aftermarket mods with quality compare to anything cheaper option out there. Last edited by bkwld; 06-18-2019 at 06:54 PM.. |
