If I'd been paying closer attention I'd have noticed this sooner, a roughly 3" diameter corrugated rubber hose coming off the air filter that's been roughly cut off. It's an 09 335d. I'd like to identify it and fix it. Does anyone have any ideas about where this hose goes, pointers to online resources I can tap to guide me in buying the right replacement and installing it?

That hoes doesn't lead to anywhere else in the engine. Its deceiving ending that abruptly but it's like that from the factory, so nothing to worry about.

its simply an emergency intake.. nothing to worry about! i removed the hose completely when i had an airbox.
