With stock turbos the issue is not the cams.... It's the point at which your Emp/imp ratio is too high.
In my case I know the high rpm smoke in most tunes is from ignoring lambda and going by a static map with only egt limiters (in some cases not even that).

I got the colt cam on my tdi and I logged maf values and they didn't change much beyond margin of error. Sure it had higher lift and duration.... But the emp/imp ratio is what ends up choking the engine. Springs help but not for the ratio, but for the absolute emp. Bigger turbos that might have a lower emp/imp ratio can still have valve seating issues due to the huge pressure pushing back on the exhaust valves.

I'm supposed to get him some logs so that he can adjust ( he specifically wants rail/rpm lambda/egt ). Hope to get it to the track soon as well. All I know is it pulls harder than it did with my DUDMD stage 2 tune according to butt dyno, but like I said hope to get to a track soon.

Every time he sends me an updated tune it pulls harder and harder . Interested to hear more about the cams and springs though. What other mods do you have?

Nice! just about what I have minus the cam and springs. Should be a fun track car

I'd like to take my out on the track too. Needs some suspension work though lol

+1 for the BRR tune. Just got my car back last night from deletes with 335stoner and the BRR tune. Setup includes AFE filter, eBay FMIC, VRSF DP, stock mufflers. And I see a new set of rear tires in my future...

Let me just say I was amazed with the car. It freakin’ rips! Customer service from BRR was top notch with close communication throughout the process. I’d personally rather be able to send a text to my tuner than call a 1-800 number. Add that to the cost savings and I think you’ve got a winner.

I got my X5d done by him. Really smooth calibration and his customer service is pretty good.

335dsleeper will have my car in the very near future. I've been in contact with him over the years and ignored a few of his insights, that came back to bite me. He was/is a great asset to the M57 community.

Someone mentioned BPC - not sure they are still tuning, since Bob left their shop to expend on his own.

Additionally - I'd steer clear of BPC all together after they blew my turbo and then tried to make me pay a $11k bill.....

Just swapped from another known tune. All I can say is wow. Like a new car. I did not expect this much difference.

Have a dyno day scheduled....cant wait to see numbers....and how much the subsequent adjustments make. Customer service really is top notch, just a really good guy. He is truly invested, and WANTING to work with me since I'm one of the few with the Colt cam/springs upgrade.

If you are looking for tuning options and don't want to pay the 1200++ price I HIGHLY recommend you hitting OG 335dsleeper up. ( PM me for his info ) Excellent customer service and response times along with the great tune. My previous tunes were from ECOTUNE and DUDMD, his tune FAR exceeds both of those. There are several others on this site that can vouch for him and his knowledge and tunes. Hopefully some of them will add to this post.
I call him the 335Doctor and my 335d will pay BRR a visit ASAP. Good parts going in.

I have put BRR on almost 10 m57's in houston! I have driven dudmd and jr2.8. The difference is clearly there. I don't have a dyno or any fancy hp metering stuff, but one think I did do is I found a video that tunemyeuro used to show off the 2.8 acceleration. I used that video and I made my own video and trimmed the 40-90mph pull.. I spent a lot of time trimming to get things as exact as I could and my video trim showed BRR .3 seconds faster in 40-90.

I have been talking to Ryan for almost a year now and the amount of knowledge of these motors he knows will practically melt your face off!
